using a hydraulic crimper for a 4AWG ferrule

On one of my connections, I have a 4AWG wire that needs a hex crimp to fit in a round terminal block. I have a temco hydraulic crimper. Would I be able to use this for the 4AWG ferrule instead of getting a normal ferrule crimper for this? I'm guessing normal ferrules don't cold weld the terminal like a hydraulic crimper typically does so i am not sure if this is acceptable

Since you are cold welding, how about just crimp the wire direct?

I don't think the die will be the right size for that, interesting idea though

#6 or #6 large might work fine. Worst case 1" of wire is lost.

I have this crimper which is basically the same thing. I crimped 2awg copper ring onto 4awg wires and it crushed everything to a solid mass. I used the 35 die.
