Hi Folks,

I’m planning on some type of 48v offgrid solar and inverter system for my wintering RV lot down in Yuma AZ (something like the EG4 6000xp and either Ruixu or EG4 wall mount batteries - eventually). BUT… right now I have a bunch of stuff to use (cheaply) that I’d like to toss on the wall and get working.

Does anyone familiar with Magnum Energy gear know whether or not you can use their accessories STAND ALONE (without having a Magnum Inverter as the center of their ecosystem)? I have the following gear:

— PT-100 MPPT Solar Controller
— ME-BMK-L Battery Monitor Kit and Shunt
— ME-ARC50-L Advanced Remote Control
— 300amp LiTime pos & neg bus bars
— Xantrex Freedom XC 2000 - 12vDC high frequency inverter

I’d just need few 12v LiFeP04 batteries and some panels to hook up to the PT100

But I’ve been trying to find out if you can connect the Advanced Remote up to the PT-100 to manage it and also connect up the shunt and manage it with the remote as well? They seem to all “network” (if you wanna call using an RJ12 phone splitter as a network) together if you hook them up to a standard Magnum inverter. I just don’t wanna drop $1500 or $2000 on a magnum inverter as I could almost buy two 6000xp’s for that price! Plus I’ve heard that Magnum is a dying brand… they may be shutting down manufacturing operations in Mexico.

Anyway - if anyone knows if you can use their magnum remote with just the mppt controller and the shunt I’d love to know, Thanks. BTW — in the next year I’ll be doing power audits for the stuff on my lot which involves three sub panels powering two outbuildings and a 38’ park model trailer… I’ll be using Emporia Vue v3 monitors. Thanks. Then maybe next year - if the tariffs don’t foo me up I’ll upgrade to the full off grid system.

Ok. I guess I got my disappointing answer. I can only use the me-bmk-l and the me-arc50-l with a magnum inverter. The pt100 MPPT controller will operate stand alone. Dumb! Not the answer I was looking for. Guess I’m gonna be in the market for a cheap magnum pure sine wave inverter… geez. Thanks a lot magnum! Now my next problem. Do I go with 24v or 48v? I guess if I buy a used magnum 48v - at least I can buy the wall mount 48v batteries and not have to throw that away…. Anyone got a decent old magnum pure sine wave inverter that you want to sell?
