Valence U1-12RT LiFeMgPo4 Battery

I purchased two of these batteries on ebay. I'm connecting them in parallel for greater capacity. My question: Do I have to connect the BMS cables for them to charge correctly? The manual for these batteries show an example for a series connection but nothing on parallel.

Any info would be appreciated...

Just speculating, but the BMS connection when the batteries are in series is probably so that they can balance with each other. When they're hooked up in parallel, they'll stay balanced without needing to communicate.

What about in series and parallel? To make a 24v 80ah pack using 4 batteries. I'm being probably overly cautious. Hook up communication cables before or after?
