Ordered from VATRER website a 48v server rack battery last thursday. It arrived to me today, wed morning. Much quicker shipping than most solar stores ive done business with.

Amazon delivered mine (months ago) right to back door. So far both Eco-Worthy and Vattier had bent rack mount ears but nothing that couldn't be easily bent back. Almost same box and packing material.

Overkill Solar - Apps on Google Play (android)

Has far more control than the Vatrer app. It is a generic JBD BMS and nice big display. The temp sensors are 1,2,3 so if you use a defalt setting from the Overkill app the temp sensor will be wrong. Also Overkill tries to add a BMS on/off switch. That will keep it from discharging. Not that you need to change anything but been there done that. I increased the balance to 3.45 and decreased the Cell over voltage.

Information from Overkill Solar App:
Manufacturer: ZJDY
Firmware Version: 6.2
Device Name: SP16S020L16S100A
Jiabaida / JBD SP16S020

I just finished testing of my Vatrer Rack Battery so I'll post it here. No complaints. Battery set for 80% discharge. I thought I could extract data from Smart Shunt but don't see it in the menu.

Looking at this with what equipment I had already thinking of different ways I could have tested them. Like increasing the Ah rating much higher so it wouldn't bottom out on the Solar Assistant. From here I'll get the SOC vs Volt

Got a follow up for us? How's it working for ya?? I'm currently comparing the VATRER to the EG4 LifePo 48v 100AH. Thx

When I have time I would like to stick a external RS485 => USB adapter on J1 and bring it out of the battery faceplate.
Connect it to Solar Assistant so I can monitor the battery. Thta may be the same port the LCD connects to. Idealy I could have a switch to select USB or LCD.

The LCD is nice but I rarly look at it after the first week. I want to see DATA Remotly

Agree 💯 %. Packing and delivery
was A+ just finished registering as well for a total of 7 years.

I would like to be a part of this endeavor; for I am fairly new and purchased two of these babies. Just waiting on the EG4 6000xp.
Connecting them to solar assist would be great. When as re you getting started?

I need some advice here. We have had 6 of these Vatrer batteries on our cabin for about 7 months ( my dad lives off-grid in the mountains in Colorado) All summer they stayed at 100%, and maybe in the morning before the sun came up 65 to 75 % then right back up to 100 % by 2 pm ( or sooner ) Now that's its winter and we have one of our larger solar arrays seeing a lot less sun, plus the furnace fan all night. We are not over-paneled for winter. Long story short, I'm not always here and did not want my dad running them to zero % , which has now happened twice. So I came back up and used the Overkill solar app to change two of the settings. One I saw that the battery pack under voltage is set to 35.2 volts ( 35200 MV ) , wow on a 48-volt battery ( that is really 51 volts ) 35 seemed too low. I changed it to a 38-volt package voltage cut-off ( 38000 mv ) . I also changed the cell under voltage from 2200 MV to 2250 . The hope is that when we run the battery to zero % the cells are really higher ( maybe 10 -15 % ) . Im not an expert on the BMS setting could someone tell me if I did right? Should I change them back? Is there any other setting I should change ? Oh I also changed the high voltage cut-off from 60000 MV volts to 59950 ( MV )
thanks

You can use the overkill app and push the overkill 16 cell settings (save current Vatrer one first) just change the temp sensors back to 1,2,3 and BMS on switch to on all the time. That is a short cut. Take screenshots of the current one just to be safe.

I have my Low voltage cutoff set at 2.5 for an absolute minimum (x16 = 40v). On other batteries I have it set for 42.0V (2.62V/Cell) for safety. Many will debate taking them all the way down but nobody will say 2.50V/cell will hurt them. Play it safe.

I did not change these setting, but these are the factory settings how do they look ? should they be adjusted? ( as for what % the battery sees at 10 % , etc )
