Vatrer Server Rack - battery arrived!

There are several Amazon racks that look like the dimensions would work. Was wanting to see if any other options before I ordered anything.
by the time you get the rack and buy the supports it gets pretty expensive. The EG4 or other racks start to look attractive when free shipping kicks in.

Also, spoke with VATRER and was told there will be a rack option available in the future. So, I may rig me up something temporary for now and see what they come out with.
That is great that we will have more options. I was thinking of using a computer rack and bolting in some Unistrut on sides with felt over it.

I have an old wall hang enclosed cabinet rack. (Was not going to attempt mounting it to wall. But, rather building a 2x4 stand to set it on.) I was thinking of doing the same with unistrut to act as horizontal rails. Just have to figure out how to attach it to the built-in vertical mounting rails

FIY, I have all my batteries hooked up and I can't turn off the Vatrer BMS. The BMS power is connected to the battery terminals. When I turn the Vatrer breaker off the BMS is still powered by the other 4 batteries in paralles. The Bluetooth is locked up and only way to reset it is to remove one of the power leads off the Vatrer. I am going to have to add a BMS switch on the front of the Vatrer to turn off the BMS. I like the Eco-Worthy Rack battery much better so I doubt that I will buy any more Vatrers'

i just bought 1... what setting was used to make it work with the 6000xp
No comes on Vatrer so you have to use manual mode.

Check BMS settings with Overkill app via Bluetooth.

I would not use Overkill to change the settings, only monitor. My experience is that when I used Overkill with the Vatrer, the Discharge FETs were locked out. I ended up downloading the JBD app to my iPad (pro version), re-entered all settings, & it worked.

You should have all the settings you need to program your inverter/charger then. FYI, I found it was the temp sensors that turned off and disabled the fets. click on 1,2,3, temp sensors resolved issue. The initial settings in MY Vatrer battery I considered unsafe. It has been operating flawlessly after reprogramming. Due to lack of coms I moved over the EW battery. I am confident that with a adapter I can get coms on the Vatrer so when I do accomplish that task I'll post it here.

Depending upon how much solar and hours to charge here are good ranges for you to set your inverter in manual mode. The top number should be enough to trigger the SOC 100% charge point. Many batteries advertise 58.5V but I consider this far to high.

16 Cell LiFePo4 Pack:
Bulk/Absorption Range: 56.2 to 56.8
Float: 54.0 to 55.3

I wish you luck in your endeavor

So why can't you buy the RS485 to usb adapter, put a bulkhead rj45 on front of the Vatrer rack mount battery and then instant communications?
I ordered the adapter today so I'll let you know.
Ok it took me a while but I had been playing with new favorite Eco-Worthy rack battery.

I circled back Adding USB to Vatrer Rack Battery and it is working on Solar Assistant

I just order mine got a great price

You can add a data port on the front of it prety ez:

Finally figured a way to mount the batteries in this rack. Used some unistrut and steel rods...

Any recommendations for a rack for these batteries?
Doesnt look like VATRER shows to offer one on their website. I need to store 4-6 of these and would like to have wheels to move around if needed.
I haven't purchased one yet but from my preliminary measurements I believe 6 will fit in the bottom of a "yukon" bench.

IIRC someone just posted a recent video from the CES and spoke about them coming out with server battery racking.

Harbor freight? Or eco worthy? Makes sense they sell the little four 100w ground mount kits.
VATRER for their server rack batteries.
Northern tool had a nice rack on sale last week for about $170. I almost bought one of those.

They were $890 free shipping direct from VATRER website with the discount code Lithium7. Not sure if still are or not. I ordered mine from there.
you can add communication to the Vatrer. I posted a thread about adding it to solar assistant.

Personally I would buy the Eco-Worthy now.

The ecoworthy and the VATRER seem to be about the lowest cost rack batteries out there. Id like to see Will do a video on both of them.

The Vatrer cells seem to balance faster and are big and robust on charge/discharge temperatures. I never did identify the Vatrer but the E-W are REPT A Grade.

The Eco-Worthy communications are far superior but the cells are smaller and there is minor balancing issues in the beginning. Once they cycled a couple times everything was 100 present within 10mV

I added USB to the Vatrer and plugged into Solar Assistant by sacrificing Bluetooth so it is a tossup.

If I only needed one battery for a ups or small load the Vatrer is the choice. The big display for K.I.S.S. for a UPS is a great feature.

If I have a big rack of batteries then the E-W is the right choice. I prefer to have remote monitoring on all my stuff and the 3U size is a big positive when you have a lot of batteries.

if anyone is interested ...... walmart sells this battery for $871 with free shipping
sold and shipped by Vatrer and 3-4 year extended warranties are available for 59-77 bucks .
it can be returned to a local wally with recipt/warranty so no shipping either way .... i've done this with other products .
i think i'm gonna go this route myself ........
