I think in this case a general sense of confusion as paralleling simply doesn't work with a crossover cable, not the beta box results of 400+V out the ac on paired units to cook your appliances.View attachment 292777
I wonder if “very off-putting” is as bad as 400 VAC on your house wiring?
(referencing an old EG4 thread I’ll never forget)
Wine certainly works on my ancient Intel Mac, it will likely work on Linux.Has anyone tried veconfig software with wine on Linux?
I don't have a windows laptop, otherwise I'll have to use veconfig remote through vrm / cerbo.
I have a 2013 Intel Mac I run Windows 11 on directly. I use it for anything that needs windows software. It's a bit slow, but it works fine.Wine certainly works on my ancient Intel Mac, it will likely work on Linux.
I've also got an old Windows XP laptop just in case.
Getting the COM port setup properly is the tricky part.

I assumed he was talking about veconnect with mk3 interface. But with VRM remote down/upload, COM port shouldn't matter, no?
If you are just modifying the file in VEConfigure to upload back, you don't need to use the COM port. But with VRM remote down/upload, COM port shouldn't matter, no?

I have assistants (ESS and programmable relay) , so I still need the COM port and the MK3. Remote won't configure those.
OK then, I'm behind the times. Thanks for letting me know.Umm... yeah it will. I've implemented multiple assistants in Maine from AZ without issue. With firmware updates, which can be done remotely, the inverters are completely reset to defaults with assistants wiped (all settings/assistants are initially saved at the start of the remote firmware update process), and VEConfig uses the saved settings, merges with any new settings, and updates the settings and assistants.
It is my understanding that the only thing remote VEConfig can't do is configure units in parallel, but once established, you can use VEconfig to do anything else to the inverters.

Next rainy day I'll go through the whole process and see how painless it is.![]()
Should be able to restore the settings assuming you have a backup copy. The configuration of the AC-In settings on my Quattro 48/3000 have reverted. I don't know for sure if it happened after I recently did a firmware update of the Quattro or not. But I suspect that's when it happened. I had the grid/generator settings just the way I wanted them after using VE.Configure before my recent trip. So I know they were correct.

I’m in the same boat. I’m temped to buy the multiplus II gx 230v now for my well pump, then add a 120v non-gx later for 120v power up at my cabin. It would save me about $300 in total cost vs having to go straight for 120v x2 out of the gate. And I wouldn’t need to buy a cerbogx to get up and running.VICTRON MULTIPLUS II GX Question:
For North America, are there any indications Victron will produce a Multiplus II 120V GX? I noticed they are only available in the 230 V version at present. Going split phase 240 V next year so I would be buying another Multi to hook up with existing.
Thanks!

Ok then - thanks for the heads up. I was hoping for a full functioning Cerbo equivalent - Cerbo it is.I hope not. It's mostly a gimmick, and it's not a full featured GX device compared to the Cerbo.

My MP-II arrived in original box with similar abuse to the top, but instead of cracked black plastic bits, the ends of the blue metal cover were dinged in a bit. No trouble with the unit but in my estimation the Victron box could use a little improvement. Please comment on the cracking and if there are any concerns regarding functionality or safety. Are there replacement corners available?
I would say shipping damage, just cosmetic. Reach out to place you ordered from?TOP PLASTIC CORNERS CRACKED ON MULTI - Eurotrash.
Quick Question to the this thread group. I finally opened up the Multiplus II 24/3000 120V this weekend. I set up the parameters for my off grid cabin. When I pulled the inverter from the box I noticed both plastic corners on the top of the inverter were cracked. I have tested the unit and changed the settings I need (ground relay off (G-N in panel and floating Neutral Genny - and current limited to 25A for my generator hook up). I also decided to test the functionality at home before bringing it an hour from the city where I live to ensure it is functioning.
Basically, I cannot find any functionality problems. Everything seems to work as expected. My questions are:
- is this a design flaw and the corners often crack?
- Is it shipping damage (box appear ok)?
- Any other thoughts (no I did not drop it or throw it across the room - that's how it cam out of the box).
Please comment on the cracking and if there are any concerns regarding functionality or safety. Are there replacement corners available?
Cheers All.
