I installed a Victron smart shunt and I must say it rocks. I can read it on the Victron app when local and remotely thru Solar Assistant.
There is another aux input to measure another voltage source or with a thermocouple, temperature using this cable:

I want to use it to measure the incoming water temperature (40 to 180 deg F) of my outdoor wood burner. I know I'll have to extend the wires a bit but is there any reason this won't work ? This will be handy to examine the water temp from my phone to know when I need to add more wood to the boiler.

Not sure if 180° is in its range. But if it is, I don't see why not.
Any way to find out the range ? Answered my own question: Temperature measurement range: -20ºC to +50ºC (requires optional temp. sensor) 50C = 122F Humm the temperature coefficient is adjustable. Maybe if I play with that I can increase the range ???

I would just grab a blow dryer or heat gun and see how high the temp gets on the probe before mounting it anywhere.
Good one - thanks !!! I'll post back my findings in a few days (I don't have the probe yet).

My findings:
Hooked up the aux input into the smart shunt with the temperature sensor and ran a heat gun to drive the temp up as MiSh suggested.
Well it works perfectly up to 180deg F. Probably goes a lot higher but I stopped at 180 because that is the upper limit of my hot water system I want to monitor. Solar Assistant shows the temp in real time plus there are adjustable alarms for high and low temp fyi......
