Why would that benefit SolArk? Deye's are not sold in the USA except via grey market. . A theory for that rumor is that it was started by EG4? That is the only conclusion I can come too, especially since it was repeated by a guy with EG4 in his profile.Did Sol-Ark force Deye to do this? (That is the only conclusion I can come to)
I think Deye is afraid of the Taliban in Pakistan, so the did it world wide.I am curious if any of you saw this on your non Sol-ark Deye unit?

Unless Deye forces the bad supplier to take them back and to refund you, the bad supplier doing something of that sort seems unlikely. When I read the screen shot - and consider the meaning they may be 'trying to convey'
this is what jumps out at me:
after listing the authorized rep for each area...
"Pls return to your supplier"
To me, they mean - here is who you should have bought from (they list the authorized suppliers by region)
and then they say - return your unit to the (un-authorized) supplier you just bought the unit from.
It seems to me, they have launched this now, and we all react to - oh dude has had his Deye for 2years but it got bricked this morning - but what Deye is (my opinion) doing is this will now be the screen you see if you buy from un-authorized supplier and you first start up your new unit - doesn't work, says to return it, and contact the correct supplier for your region.
Anyway, that is how I see it, could be totally wrong. more info to follow I hope.
What's shitty companies.Unless Deye forces the bad supplier to take them back and to refund you, the bad supplier doing something of that sort seems unlikely.
I don't think that is necessarily the conclusion you should come to. You've been a member long enough that you should have seen some of the EG4 threads. One of my favorites is when @EG4 Electronics James said :What's shitty companies.
I was never a fan of EG4 inverter. I now so appreciative that EG4 is a good alternative.
I hope more good inverters soon be introduced.
If we “support” open loop insanity then we get liability related to every open loop fire hazard out of shenzhen
Also we cant get all data wrapped around a situation to provide on our 5 day replacement guarantee with open loop, the warranty on the unit will remain valid but the liability will be clearly disclaimed and the timeframe as we troubleshoot firmware quirks caused by back amperage from open loop on fill-in-the-blank bms co that doesn’t bother with standard comms of which they can copy 12.
Not looking for a cop out, looking for an ethernet cable in each job and a self respecting...
If he was, then I will respond to that: Deye owners here just “Shut the F**k Up.”I think @FilterGuy was well aware of the other post and was actively seeking feedback from those that experienced it.

So... all of us... including me... are dicks for polluting this thread.
A good lawyer would have told his client to STFU.I think James has a good lawyer.
There were two forum members that said their inverters were shut down, one was at least a year or more of forum age. Somebody tallied it up in that other thread a few pages back. It's only been a day or two, I think it might take a while before a significant number of affected people manage to post here on this "dumpster fire" of a forum.I think @FilterGuy was well aware of the other post and was actively seeking feedback from those that experienced it.

Mine and Ray's 3 are working just fine. It's too bad @RayfromTX kind of got chased off of the board. I'm pretty sure he had 2 or 3 Deye inverters at his place.
And as I responded in the other topic, I have been in contact with him..It's too bad @RayfromTX kind of got chased off of the board. I'm pretty sure he had 2 or 3 Deye inverters at his place.
i have customers with this problem has anyone come up with a solution yet?
I am in Panama and the one with the dongle is blocked and the one without dongle is working fine.
2 members reported being shut down, one says they bought before the SolArk contract - so not bootleg perhaps.Forum Members running bootleg DYE inverters shutdown count: 0
So you can do the experiment, and connect them to the Internet, and see if they shut down. Come on, take one for the team. We’ll all learn something from your experience.Mine and Ray's 3 are working just fine.
Neither of us have them connected to the internet.
And all were purchased before the exclusivity agreement.
