I am curious if any of you saw this on your non Sol-ark Deye unit?

Did Sol-Ark force Deye to do this? (That is the only conclusion I can come to)

@Danke How do you link threads like you did above. I've never figured it out. Mine always show up ugly, like this.

Ugly.

Why would that benefit SolArk? Deye's are not sold in the USA except via grey market. . A theory for that rumor is that it was started by EG4? That is the only conclusion I can come too, especially since it was repeated by a guy with EG4 in his profile.

When I read the screen shot - and consider the meaning they may be 'trying to convey'
this is what jumps out at me:
after listing the authorized rep for each area...
"Pls return to your supplier"

To me, they mean - here is who you should have bought from (they list the authorized suppliers by region)
and then they say - return your unit to the (un-authorized) supplier you just bought the unit from.

It seems to me, they have launched this now, and we all react to - oh dude has had his Deye for 2years but it got bricked this morning - but what Deye is (my opinion) doing is this will now be the screen you see if you buy from un-authorized supplier and you first start up your new unit - doesn't work, says to return it, and contact the correct supplier for your region.

Anyway, that is how I see it, could be totally wrong. more info to follow I hope.

Unless Deye forces the bad supplier to take them back and to refund you, the bad supplier doing something of that sort seems unlikely.

What's shitty companies.
I was never a fan of EG4 inverter. I now so appreciative that EG4 is a good alternative.
I hope more good inverters soon be introduced.

I don't think that is necessarily the conclusion you should come to. You've been a member long enough that you should have seen some of the EG4 threads. One of my favorites is when @EG4 Electronics James said :

I think @FilterGuy was well aware of the other post and was actively seeking feedback from those that experienced it.

Forum Members running bootleg DYE inverters shutdown count: 0

So... all of us... including me... are dicks for polluting this thread.
If he was, then I will respond to that: Deye owners here just “Shut the F**k Up.”

There were two forum members that said their inverters were shut down, one was at least a year or more of forum age. Somebody tallied it up in that other thread a few pages back. It's only been a day or two, I think it might take a while before a significant number of affected people manage to post here on this "dumpster fire" of a forum.

Credit to richwolf for the dumpster fire quote. I don't see how this forum is any worse than the vast majority of other forums out there, other than the fact that I'm here posting on it.. vastly lowering it's quality.

It's too bad @RayfromTX kind of got chased off of the board. I'm pretty sure he had 2 or 3 Deye inverters at his place.
And as I responded in the other topic, I have been in contact with him..
He, just like me , isolates his inverters/doesn't use the dongle, there for doesn't have the issue.
On my recommendation he is using solar assistant locally for monitoring

2 members reported being shut down, one says they bought before the SolArk contract - so not bootleg perhaps.
@webbbn was first member to report being bricked. He has been a member since 2023 700+ messages posted.
@PanGirl was second member to report one of two Deye bricked - only the one connected via dongle. They were a new member as of yesterday, likely just to be able to post the question on how to "unbrick".

Mine and Ray's 3 are working just fine.
Neither of us have them connected to the internet.
And all were purchased before the exclusivity agreement.
So you can do the experiment, and connect them to the Internet, and see if they shut down. Come on, take one for the team. We’ll all learn something from your experience.🤓
