WattCycle has a 24-hour sale going.

Plan is to buy another 280ah, I already have one of the mis-labeled 300ah you've likely heard of.
I've emailed WC with questions since no one answers Chat. Can't say how long a response will take.

Their FAQ states that the new 280ah 200a BMS has 'slightly different output' from the prior 300ah. I want to run the 2 in parallel, so I'm concerned about compatibility. If they're not compatible, balance, etc., then it's a deal breaker and I have a solo 300 to deal with (new, never fully charged).
As you might know from Will Prowse's review of the 300 it has 600a overcurrent protection. The BT model has 200a BMS. I have a 250a fuse in my setup, so I expect I'm safe there?
  • Standard Version: 600A (1.2s)In Cart: ($395 w/FEB6 discount code)
  • Bluetooth Version: 210±10A (1s) In Cart: ($529)

Also wondering if a Bluetooth 280, 200BMS model will be of any benefit in parallel with the dumb model as far as monitoring capabilities.
$70 premium for Bluetooth. Edit $97
I have a Smart Shunt in place.

EDIT/PS: I'm also reading some posts that the WC App isn't very reliable.

So, standardize or spend the bucks for the BT?

Those are normal priced - if you want 280ah cells in a battery buy the DumFume 300amp - cheaper $230 to $300 -- don't pay over $350 for either version --- I have one of each and I have new BMS for both on order --- to make them the same and to get bluetooth....

You can run them in parallel fine, one will be used slightly more than the other -- i.e. current flow won't be even if there are changes ... and given the flawed wiring and BMS in the original it should be different. ... I have one too

Always get a BT enabled version of a battery if you can, it is better and lets you monitor what is going on inside the battery. Odds are if it is sold with a bluetooth option you can pop the top and add a BT module to the UART port and have BT. Cheaper to use the same BMS and just not include the module.

With most batteries the overkill app will connect and work fine... there are exceptions to this but it is worth a try

I bit it off and ordered 2 100ah BT and 1 280ah plain jane. There'll be no popping of the top ;)

I'll be fine.

But, thank you.

I have the new 12v 280ah mini with bluetooth. The bluetooth only reports total battery voltage. It doesn't report individual cell volts. This bluetooth bms is worthless. Save money and but the one on sale with miss-labled 300ah. Open case and install replacement BMS with working bluetooth.

Have you tried other apps like the overkill, jbd, or jk app?

I have the dummy 300 and another dummy 280 is on the way.
Current limit is the difference.
BT 200A
Non BT 600A.

I'm thinking 250a fuse in the hot side.
