Hi Guys, Anyone with experience in heavy Welding? I just want to make sure I will not Fry my BMS if the Ladder touches de Welding Metal.

Backstory:
My Brother asked me to make a replacement Lifepo4 Battery bank for his Electric Ladder, 48V.
the ladder is used to raise him and the Welding Machine Miller 652 uses 44Vdc 650Amps Miller Manual
I worry about if the Ladder touches the Metal Part he is welding, will it short out the BMS?
Currently he used Lead Acid, and it lasts less than a Year. but the short is a non issue even when the cards on the ladder broke when he shorted it last year.

Unless the batteries are a circuit or in a circuit somehow the BMS’s shouldn’t see any current.
Rubber/vinyl/urethane matts around the welder chassis would be easy insurance imho.
