What determines if a post shows up in "What;s New"?

What determines if a post shows up in "What's New"? I had initially assumed that all new posts will but apparently not true. For example, at 8:48 PM EDT 10/02/25 I made a post in the BMS forum in the thread linked below but it did not show up in the "What's New".

I finally got my hands on a plastic case version of the 150Ahr battery. I was disappointed to find that the Overkill Solar app will find it but will not actually connect to it. I also tried the Aolithium app (the Aolithium also uses a JBD Bms) and similarly it can find it but will not connect. The Eco-Worthy app will connect so clearly the BT is working. I have a 280Ahr Eco-Worthy that does work with the Overkill app and I do not recall any secret handshakes or hoops to jump through to get it to work. Disappointed.

Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I don't think I understand what you are saying. When I look at the "What's New" listing there are posts at 8:45 Pm and 8:49 Pm but not my 8:48 Pm post. My times are EDT.

The whats new is for you as the user. So you posting doesn't qualify as "new".

Someone else has to post something to be "new" to you.

That's how I think it works.

Apparently it does not normally work that way. Just now, as a test I made a post to an existing thread and it promptly showed up in the "What's New" listing without any subsequent posting by others

Try it in a thread you didn't create.

(If that is what happened. You didn't say which thread but it looks like its the one you had already made.)

Currently have 1 single 100ah lifepo4.

I still haven't decided if I want to get another one, pending more testing with my new solar array in poorer conditions to see how it fares but most likely I see another battery will probably be wanted at some point.

I am aware though that the longer I leave it the more aged the current one is getting, possibly closing the window for paralleling to a new one.

Would plan to get another of the same make and model.

A couple of months ago I emailed the manufacturers and they requested data from the app which gives the cycles of the current one and as...

Tim, see my post directly above yours. In that instance it did show up in "What's New" prior to anyone else posting subsequently. Why it works this way most times but not always is remaining a mystery so far. Thank you to those willing to engage on this.

Well, it's technology. So I usually don't understand how it works, most of the time. lol

OK, I think I have it figured out. It will not show up if the post is the initial post of a thread you have created. Thanks Tim and Crowz for looking at this.
