What hybrid inverter: Feed-in to grid as little as possible with 1000 W panels + batteries

Hi,

I have plans to place 4 panels (~1000W) on top of my apartment.
Is there a hybrid solar inverter that stores (and uses) all PV generated energy into batteries (what size?).
I want to feed-in as little as possible to the grid.

My daily consumption will be more that the 4 panels will produce.

KR,

Hi Dietmar!

Welcome to the forums!

Using your insolation numbers you can figure out the total number of watt-hours the system will generate. If your daylight use is greater than the solar generation rate and you have netmetering you won't even need batteries to accomplish this. Otherwise, you want an inverter like the Sol-Ark with the ability of zeroing the home meter (aka limited home); the other advantage of never putting power into the grid is you don't need a net-meter agreement.

Legion solar advertises their system as self regulating to prevent feeding to grid. I haven't used their system or know anyone that has but it seems like it would work for your problem set.

Just get an all in one unit and load it up with some of your loads avoid grid tie if you dont want to back feed
