My cabin is at 7000 feet and a half mile walk from the closest road and my "driveway" where I park. The cameras and motion detectors there pick up people long before the dogs alert. By the time people are on foot heading up the trail the dogs and I are typically already moving down to greet them. I had to build a bridge over a stream to get equipment and vehicles up to build my cabin, once it was finished I tore the bridge out. When a pair of Boerboels do start barking people listen

and usally run. It's fun to watch them run back across the stream they so carefully navigated the first time, especially in winter.
There are signs warning of M44 cyanide devices and Boerboels on my fences and my closest neighbor about a 20 minute walk away has pet wolves and wolf/M44 devices warning signs. We do still occasionally get idiots trying to loot assuming the houses up here aren't occupied year around.
