I am thinking about investing in bulk black and red 12awg pure copper wire (not CCA & not tinned).

Advanced auto used to have 25ft legit/real 2 gauge wire jumper cables for $40 and were a great bang for buck and worked great for ATV winches, auto air compressors and other high amp auto type wiring. I have used extension cords to wire trailers vs that thin tiny wiring in kits.

Here are some thoughts:

I don't want to go smaller than 12awg and I dont have connectors or a need (amps) for 10+awg. Plus I have 1000+ ft of 10awg PV wire from santan solar I invested in but it's too thick, stiff etc for auto type wiring. I'd like more than a dozen strands if possible for some flexibility vs auto store wire. I worry about speaker wire vs the jacket melting and not listed esp if the jacket dry rots from my dry hot climate like that super flexible silicone on my upgraded multi meter leads.

I live in the desert and need to wire some LED lights for golfcarts, ATVs, another ATV winch relay/switch, stereo power wires, fathers new but used boat trailer. Rewire old ATV trailer lights, other cars stuff, relay switches, 48v to 12v converter wiring, and other DC stuff. I'd like single conductors for a lot of projects I have on my to do list this year. Bulk would be nice to save money and have it readily available since I live an hour from town.

I have used ancor in the past when I wired a boat and lived near the coast but don't need the tinned expense where I am now esp w my adhesive filled shrink wrap type connectors I already have that came in a few kits where I bought them for building my batrium BMS and needed the smaller red size.

Amazon basic seems to just be speaker wire but pure copper. Same with monoprice. There is 12v landscape wiring for powering lights at home depot and I assume it's UV rated. The wire I saw on will's site doesnt come in bulk.

22 cents a foot but probably stiff building AC wire

Update so far:

TXL is automotive wire
GXL has a higher temp rating for engine bays
RVI is hook up wire

Del City:
GXL $.28/ft https://m.delcity.net/store/12-Gauge-GXL-Wire/p_791875.h_791910

TXL (lower temp rating) $.28/ft https://www.delcity.net/store/Cross!Link-TXL-Wire/p_804943

RVI $.27/ft https://m.delcity.net/store/12-Gauge-RVI-Wire/p_183426.h_183768

AC/DC:
Another TXL $.38/ft - https://acdcwire.com/collections/txl-12-awg

I recently bought welding wire from AC/DC WIRE AND SUPPLY and was pleased with the wire and the quick shipping. They carry two grades of Automotive wire that can be bought by the foot or in color combination set lengths. I have not bought any of it so it is just from looking at their listing. They claim all American made and up to spec.

BTW. I have also been happy with wire from TEMCo Industrial LLC

Yeah I use Temco for my 4/0 for my inverters and batteries. But I don't think thier 12 gauge is stranded and flexible as much vs welding wire vs the costs of similar wire from others like ancor

Here's an option and a place I've ordered from

I'll have to research RVI wire (can't find the strand count)
$.27/ft - https://m.delcity.net/store/12-Gauge-RVI-Wire/p_183426.h_183768

That's $137 for 500ft if it's not too stiff.

Update:
Del City's RVI hook-up wire is designed with thermoplastic insulation that offers superior moisture resistance and added protection against nicks and cuts. This durable wire is ideal for a variety of applications, including wiring machine tools, control cabinets, as well as automotive and marine installations. Its robust insulation ensures reliability in challenging environments, providing the strength and durability needed for complex electrical projects.

Whether you're working on machinery, control systems, or automotive and marine setups, Del City's RVI hook-up wire delivers dependable performance with enhanced resistance to moisture and physical damage.

UL 1015/1230 =
Conductor: Tinned or Bare Copper.
Insulation: PVC .030″ Nominal Wall.
Voltage Rating: 600v.
Temperature Rating: 105ºC (221ºF) UL 1230: 60ºC Moisture Resistant.
Compliances: CSA Style TEW and AWM. (Also meets TR 32) VW-1 Rated.

Southwire's UL 1015 is 65 strands. I will call del city and ask what theirs is

Wirenco and Greg's Marine Wire have been my go to. I've also used Temco and Windy Nation.
