How do I determine what solar panels will work with my Bluetti 2400? Thanks!

1. determine what the Bluetti max PV input limit is.
2. look at the Voc rating on solar panels.
3. connect panels in series so that total Voc stays unver the max PV input of your Bluetti.

I don't get it.

Bluetti: Max PV input: 500W
250 W panel: 37.4 VOC

Yeah you just got to keep the voc between 16 and 60 so that panel will work.

  • Short circuit current (ISC): 9.0 A
  • Max power current: 8.43 A

Did you read the article I linked? I think you can only use one panel. If you put them in series you're going to be over on VOC and if you put them in parallel you're going to be over on amperage. I could be mixing up the terminology but my point is amps add up one way VOC adds up the other.

one panel mentioned is fine
two panels is not.

all rough numbers but close enough to see:

in series volts add up and amps stay the same
so 37 + 37 would be 74v and over the input limit of 60v of the Bluetti (the amps will remain at 8.43)
(on a side note, voltage of the panel will go up as the outside temp goes down. not a problem at all with the one panel. just something to take into account as you approach any Solar charge controller's voltage input limit))

On the parallel side of things - amps add and voltage stays the same.
if you wired them in parallel the amps add up for total of about 16a - over the input limit of the Bluetti

Solar: relating to or denoting energy derived from the sun's rays

I'm lost, why does it need a solar panel?
