What was your most interesting recent non solar project?

Built 2 solid loudspeaker stands. Approx. 40-45kg per.
Had all materials from leftovers so cheap.
Cement in the black tubes. Heavy.
SoundCare decoupler spikes 6 pcs. under each.
Need another grey paint layer.
Then up to the living room.

I always thought play sand was simple for filling speaker stands.

So what’s going on top of them?

Been +20 years since I dabbled in DIY speakers, I was more interested in higher SPL than audiophile.

Glad to see the company I bought my last kit from is still kicking around selling kits

My dad has a pair of these in his basement pool for hit pool table. I did them up nice with real baltic birch plywood (5x5 stuff). They did the job and didn’t break the bank.

You got to be pretty serious about your speakers to spend this kind of money on them.

The Pis are well regarded.

My state's legislature has embraced nuclear fission as a way to fend off solar and prolong the coal industry. Neither reason nor cost have a seat at the table. The state's Public Service Commission has opened a case to study their new found legislatively mandated role, so I wrote the attached 31 page 181 citation document. My parents were Manhattan Project scientists, it's how they met, so I have 7 decades of study summed up in that doc.

The crossover was as simple as you could get, I think just an inductor for the woofer, lol.

I def spent more on the enclosure that the kit. If I were to dive back into it I’d snag another larger kit

I also built a 3way center speaker by a company called Adire, same with a 15” subwoofer.

I always wanted an epic folded horn setup with a compression tweeter, the kind that could fill a field with decent sound.

I picked up this Duro K365

Fully functional...

I a going to do a complete strip down anyways. If I can find a 1/4 hp DC 12 volt motor ( tall order ) I might try a direct solar pumping solution

This is not it...
But I cant get my phone to connect to the PC so use your imagination this only not as pretty.

Ok...
I found a steal of a deal on a pair of Onan 8kW diesel generators...

One pulled from a truck due to running hot error code.

They installed a new radiator, but couldnt get it running again.

The other has had most parts pulled from both sections, so it is little more than a long block for parts.

But the pair was cheap, and i like a challenge.
I will post pics when i start on them, and if i haul it to the scrap yard i will admit defeat.

Our 16 year old plastic water tank sprang a leak, "20 year warranty" yeah , right.

I replaced it with a new tank, easy peasy.

On investigating the old tank it was obvious where the leak was, you could see the sun shining in.

So I got a roll of this https://www.lazada.co.th/products/i3931619167-s15145179122.html

This stuff is VERY sticky!!

Grandson was sent inside to put one layer over the hole. Historical images of kids going up chimneys spring to mind!

We did let him out, eventually!

Another patch on the outside.

Both patches were rollered firmly.

Job done.

We're not going to use this for potable water but it will be a backup tank for Madam's plant watering activities.

Anyway, when i was all done loading up the tractor on my trailer to haul it home, the guy asked me if i needed another trailer.

Nobody ever gives me free stuff :(

Madam, on the other hand ...

Last year she was given a pickup load of rather over-ripe pineapples.
A few hours with her cauldron ("Double, double toil and trouble; Fire burn and cauldron bubble") and she had a load of rather good pineapple jam.

She gave most of it away to those in the village who can't afford a bit of sweet luxury for their kids.

She's a lovely lady, love her to bits!!
