Where Do You Buy Heavy Gauge Cable in Canada?

As title says, I'm looking for a reliable place to buy wire by the foot - without getting raped.
I'm having a heck of a time sourcing 15 ft x 2 of 3/0 cable. I don't need a 25ft spool either. Lots of us suppliers either won't ship to Canada or the last one I found they wanted $250 US ($355 CAD!) for delivery.

Try prince auto.
A tractor repair shop may make cable.
the shop I worked at did.
Or look up Quick cable, they deal in all that sort of stuff.
I think you mean Princess Auto and their price is similar to Home Depot.

Ktool seems to have the best price but their website doesn't say where they are located.

Right, Princess auto regularly have deal on copper cable. They supply cable build in USA.
If no, you can call nearby welding component supplier and ask price for copper cable.

Acklands Grainger, any electrical parts supply, Texcan, Anixter, Home Cheapo, Lowes, Princess Auto, pretty much any auto parts supplier.

If you are still looking for cable, I have some. PM me your location

Did you ever find a place to buy? I'm looking to buy about 30m worth of #2 and nobody in town sells that stuff anymore. There used to be an electrical distributor I'd go to that would sell it, but they don't seem to carry it anymore, and tried all the other ones too. I found Anixter online and that's where my company tends to buy from, but they don't show prices.

Find a local electrical supply house. If you're in the U.S. I'd say look for a local City Electric branch. Canada must have similar local suppliers.
Copper prices at City Electric are half what it costs at Home Depot or Lowes.

If you're looking for fine-stranded cable, try an online vendor Windy Nation. They have an Amazon presence, but there's a better selection directly on the website. All gauges, all lengths.

Do you have any marine supply shop nearby? For example, West Marine in the US stocks a lot of cable in their stores.

I wouldn't trust Amazon for stuff like that, half the time it will be bogus, like it won't be real copper etc.

I did end up finding wire though. I went to the electrical supply house in person, I don't think the person that picked up the phone the first time knew what I was talking about, was easier in person then they got me what I needed.

I'm not sure if they ship to Canada, but I've always used Windy Nation.

They're pricing has always been great and the quality of their stuff has always been on par with what I would pick up local generator repair dealers. They are also the ones who supply the Home Depot website with their cable to sell as well. However, their products are cheaper on Windy Nations actual website and they offer free shipping so probably best just to order directly from them.

Check local battery stores, for west coast polar battery is fantastic and will normally build as you wait.
