Where to buy MB30 or MB31 cells in the EU

I have my EU VAT number registered with Alibaba, but there was no option to get a VAT invoice (also I didn't ask because I expected they would put vat on top of the existing price, and not issue a VAT invoice so we can recover VAT later as it normally happens).

I haven't had a need to buy more cells since September so I can't say anything new.
 
VAT is a vague thing i noticed from China 😁

It is supposed to have VAT if you buy directly in China, but because they ship from the EU the VAT is avoided, so there is no VAT to get back.

That's how they avoid it (I bet they label it like some low value goods when it enters EU to avoid getting caught), then when they sell from the EU they account as if it was sent from China (it just magically arrives from the EU bypassing customs). It's a huge scheme and I wouldn't be surprised if the wheels were greased all the way up to make it running smooth.

I once did some checking to see how it is done(they are competing unfairly with local businesses after all) . What I found was two quite large warehousing companies one located in Hungary and a much smaller one in Poland. Both companies require you to provide a Chinese mainland mobile number if you want to set up an account with them which I find strange for businesses located in the EU.

The fact they make clever schemes does not relieve the importer from the obligation to pay VAT (when they deliver from within the EU an argument can be made they are acting as a shipper, not an EU based seller). So I'd be very careful telling your local tax man about large purchases like that unless you have a bill from an EU company or you imported it yourself and you paid the VAT or you can find yourself with a large bill with interest in few years time.

For anyone who is not in EU who now scratches their head thinking "who would tell their local tax man about such stuff" let me explain, we have lots of schemes here where you can get tax breaks, grants, or low interest loans for various things that have to do with home improvements, solar and such. So someone can unknowingly find themselves in trouble applying to one of such schemes and sending them a Chinese bill.
 
I read somewhere that BYD EV's will soon be shipped out of a warehouse in Hungary, having been imported as "dried flowers" :)

Yes I got 32pcs from EU stock. No issues with Wistek. 3 cells very slight bulge, and 1 cell with strange bottom appearance. 1 day later I got 4 new cells shipped from EU stock.

Site works fine on my phone. However I don't understand this, I'm in the USA and when I go to checkout, the shipping says
"Shipping costs are calculated based on your address DDP(Not free.) FREE"
Also the way I found this company was from Google shopping and that states free shipping as well.
From what info I've found DDP shipping is when the seller assumes full responsibility and cost of shipping and fees/taxes.
When chatting with Wistek they said they need my address first so they can quote shipping cost.
Would they charge my card when they're delivered or something since there's no "shipping charge" through their website checkout?

I'm Europe and they had a small shipping fee..
I think providing your adress wouldn't hurt with your cc number ?
 
I noticed that Wistek has two EVE cells in stock in Europe (Poland), I think, these two capacities will be shipped from Europe, with clear shipping costs.

I am in the US, at the time, I also tried to place an order on their website, but I didn't pay, then they contacted me by email, and finally, I completed the transaction.

Maybe you can email them for help.
