Where to purchase a server rack?

On the vevors? I'd worry about castor's buckling, this one is 1200lb rating for castor's and 1700lb with leveling feet down. Not a whole lot more for the sturdy unit.
Now you are going down the rabbit hole. You start with something and by the time you finish augmenting it you are at a much higher price.

I have been there far to many times..

I think you are misunderstanding this is the vevor, total garbage to hold a bunch of batteries:

I'm suggesting get the riveted Riveco unit which is actually rated to hold a rack full of batteries without collapsing.

How many Eco Worth batteries would this rack hold do you think safely? 3 perhaps?
It looks like that Riveco rack only has battery shelves to hold one or two units, depending on the model, and it will take modifications / enhancements to add additional shelves to use its entire capacity. The Eco worthy unit has a 3U height, so you ought to fit four of them into a 12U rack if you add three more shelves. If it's really rated for 1,700 lbs, then weight shouldn't be a problem

I'm thinking rack ear front mount without individual shelves between the batteries.

May want to stick with the ecoworthy racks that we know will handle the batteries without extra shelves etc.

You think that's sufficient to support the torque from a 100lb battery? Even if the rack could handle it, I don't think the battery case flanges are up to the task. The EG4 rack has individual shelves for six batteries to slide onto. They're more like the "L rail" shown in that Riveco listing, not full width shelves, but they support the battery weight and the front screws are just to secure them in place.

I second @Koyaanisqatsi on APC and Tripp-Lite racks - or any UPS rack versus server rack.

Rack standards came from the Electronic Industries Association, and you will see “EIA” used to describe a lot of things.

Craigslist free has been good to me.

Some things advertised as “server racks” aren’t. Communications and network equipment (routers, cable panels) can go into racks which only have screw attachments in the front. The equipment is usually shorter and lighter than real computer servers, and the network people often need access to the back, different than what server folks need. So the “racks” can just be two posts in the minimal configuration. Caveat emptor, never drive somewhere to acquire a server without seeing pictures first.

I have to give different advice about cooling. Most real server racks are designed for a raised floor computer room environment. The floor is raised to (a) provide room for heavy cabling and (b) to give an air conditioning plenum. Closed racks generally assume cold air blowing in at the bottom and hot air exiting at the top. If your setup does not provide cold air being blown in at the bottom, you are probably better served by taking off the panels and doors and having big fans from the side. YMMV.

I found these Middle Atlantic racks on Craigslist, they are a/v racks, I am just going to add some rear supports and some angle for the batteries to sit on.
