A few years ago I bought 4 x 304Ah from Docan (China) dealing with Amy after high recommendations from the community here. Although delivery took close to 3 months (I was expecting this) everything went as planned and 2 years later I'm still really satisfied with my battery.
Last week, a friend ask if I could build him the same battery. So I sent an email to Amy. After a few days of not receiving a reply, I came back on here to see if she possibly moved on and who else I could deal with.
I was shock to the read bad stories about Docan and how they are selling they cells as grade A when they are in fact re-lasered grade B. I guess its not really surprising given the price drops and competition.

My question is who is now the recommended vendor to go to?

I have just made two different purchases in the last week. Daisy from Docan got me my LF280 cells in 4 days from US warehouse and Miaoxin from Yixiang got me the EVE MB31 314ah in about 4 weeks the first time and now it will be about 5-6 weeks for the second order from China. 32 cells for $2400 DDP.

Last year I saw an ad from Can Yang on a Facebook group. I honestly don't know why I reached out to him, but he seemed honest and forthright. Three orders later, and I cannot speak more highly of him. He represents Guangdong Tian Qin New Energy Co.

My first order was through alibaba for 32 cells from China (delivered just over 4 weeks out from payment). Second order was for eighty 105Ah cells from USA warehouse (delivered in one week). Most recent order was for 32 280K cells and 16 grade B cells from China (delivery in 6 weeks because of slowdown here during Christmas). The QR codes are all valid when placed into Gobel Power data base. The 280K cells all test around 302Ah. Cells are super flat and immaculate condition. Delivered price is generally around $15-20 less than the reputable US sellers, but if you buy from USA warehouse, the cost differential is tiny.

I communicate with him via Facebook Messenger, Whatsapp, and email. He's always been prompt and really good to work with. He strongly recommends the grade A cells. He says for the long term, Grade A cells offer the best value. He said he doesn't even stock grade B.

good to know, do you know if they have any EU warehouse?
thanks :)

@perryfranz Hi, did you order from them? price seems good, but turnover of Alibaba store is very small, and he keeps pushing me to make the order faster.

I've often read here about people dealing with Amy or other individuals with Docan. What is the difference between dealing with their agents and ordering from their Website?
Agents will give you ddp price for shipping ex China once you provide the address. Ultimately the payment would be via PayPal for protection, they send you an invoice, including 5% payment fee.

If you go direct via their website you can only get the US based cells out of their Houston warehouse.

Actually nope, I Have to wait a couple month for some news at work and then I can purchase it.... but I was looking to the website of Docan https://www.docanpower.com/
Cassie from Shenzhen Qishou Technology Limited gave a good price and I have made the order to this store on Alibaba, because 2 years ago I made the first order. Now wait to come, hope it is ok, like last time.

If what you want is in stock in Houston, any reason not to order from there?

@Coydon probably if you want a small price and you don't bother to wait longer... and they are happy because you already paid the cells before it is leaving the China...

I couldn't get over all the fake names, and no-recourse if the deal goes bad. It's a gamble, with a certain percentage of deals ending in fake cells. Who knows the exact percentage. But the market exists because people are willing to take that gamble I guess.

Just know you are not dealing with anyone actually named Amy, Cassie, or Daisy. Buyer beware.

That’s typical when it comes to Chinese working with Western countries. It’s a customer service thing to have an English name instead of their given name because they assume you can’t pronounce it correctly and to fit in better, promoting cross cultural interactions.

I think if anyone thought that was their real name, that’s on that person not understanding cultures, not the Chinese.

While I agree with the general sentiment, I still think people that are not well versed in this type of purchase should shy away from it. The fact that you have zero recourse if they screw you over is very real. And what you get regarding cell quality is a crap shoot.

I was debating whether to risk it with Docan, but after reading things on the forum, ended up buying from 18650. So glad I did- all 32 304ah cells were perfect. You pay a little more, but man, so simple. Though I did buy the Luyuan, which seemed a little risky at the time, but it has worked like a champ so far
