why not do all of that on the pi? it's an old one?

They are in different locations. The Pi is inside the conduit box at one of the inverters in the garage, and the Debian MacMini is up at the house. My Favorite Wife is interested in reducing the number of computers and independent functions , but that' one that's not likely to change...

I put everything on my one main Linux NAS/fileshare and try to not add extra devices whose purpose is to do anything except display on monitors/tvs.

And if you have to ask who wrote the code the answer is always the same. An Idiot. And sometimes your or I wrote the code and is that idiot.

You should still rewrite that with prepared statements

It's been so long since I've work on an OLTP system that I would have to think about. Been doing the data warehouse thing for more days than NUMBER(4) will hold.
