Will a generation 1 Prius battery work?

I have a chance to get a 1st gen Prius for its battery. Will this work? I have read you need to rewire it. How's this done. Thanks

I don’t have any first had experience, but I was looking at buying a used Prius a while back so I looked into battery replacement. AFIAK, the Prius used NiMh batteries and I’m sure they can be used For storage. I think the cells are nominal at 1.2v. There are a ton of YT vids out there that show how to replace cells, you might want to start there.
