Will Duralast 8D-DL battery work on a 12 Volt off grid system. I would love to talk to someone who is well versed on 12 volt systems.

Unfortunately, the only info I can find is Autozone Mexico:
Anything that is classified as a starter battery is a very poor choice for off-grid battery storage. You definitely want deep cycle batteries with good cycle life. Starter batteries will wear out much faster than deep cycle due to design differences. Starter batteries are designed to deliver very high current for short periods of time where deep cycles are designed to deliver lower currents, for longer periods of time with maximum cycle life.
Putting either in the other's application equates to reduced life.
Will they work? Sure. Will they wear out sooner? Absolutely.
