wire conductor size question to avoid overheating cables

My 2/0 windy nation def has a “memory” of the loops it was in, it takes a while to relax. Not a deal breaker but a feature to say the least.

If I’m in the market for more 2/0 I might try another brand just to see.

I leave my wires in the sun for 4+ hours to get them to relax. This is especially true of the 8AWG 100' MC4 wiring - that stuff is very rigid!

For welding wire try a local welding supply. Mine stocks #1 to 4/0.

Try the DLO wire when you get into the larger sizes, it is super bendable compared to any 4/0 I have ever played with.
