Wiring question for fuse postition

Is it better to have my 300 amp fuse installed closest to my 3000 watt inverter positive terminal or to the postiive terminal on my battery bank or does it matter? Photo is of the proposed wiring for my 24 volt house backup system that is being installed in my workshop. 1200 watts solar panels. Two 24 volt 200ah batteries with 60 amp controller 24 volt inverter. Victron 500a shunt. The distance from the left side of the left battery to the right side of the inverter in only 32 inches. Please does the wiring look okay? It's pretty much the same as the solar system in my van except it is 12 volt. Thanks for you help, George in Austin.

The fuse is to protect the wire so it is best to put it nearest the source of greatest current which would be closest to your battery.
