I picked up a rolling toolbox stack for 69.00 at tractor supply.
The small box is perfect for the 75Ah cells.
I have the spacers in, and aluminum end plates, i will use stainless steel band straps to hold them together.
I plan to set this up in my moms place to operate her lights/receptacles and well pump in emergencies.

Instead of stainless steel strapping I put a pack together using strong 3/4" shipping strapping. Seemed to work real well and a hell of a lot cheaper than stainless. Just an idea

I like to look for silver linings in things. The one good thing that has come from all of this disaster are the number of people working on improving resilience.

I just finished my 4s 280k Milwaukee packout, I got the idea to use this case from another member here.

I have my original JBD 200a 4s, 150a ANL and 1500w inverter that I’ll use for emergencies as well. I had left over 4awg and lugs, so it was just the price of the case.

It was very tight to fit, external terminals and the bulky ANL fuse in the case but she’s in and connected.

The carry handle is very handy.

Well, i have upgraded to a roll around toolbox, and started with a bms.
I got one off amazon, the board seems ok, but isnt working.
It arrived with a bum temp probe.
One of three shows -40C, so i guess that is keeping the system from transferring power to the case.

It came with a nice manual, and a link to an app that works just fine.
Too bad the board wont work like this...
Arrgh.
TDTBMS Smart BMS 24V 8S 100A LifePO4 PCB Protection Board with Balance Leads and Wireless Bluetooth Module for 8 Cells 24Volts Lithium Battery Pack(Smart BMS+RS485+CAN,) https://a.co/d/iAi1XGU

Usually when you see a -40 temp, it's just not connected, ala no probe there. You should be able to turn it off in the software.

Cell 4 looks like it's not reading the cell, bad crimp?

I believe you are asking about cell2 temp probe. It is a three probe molex connector.
It is certainly possible there is a bad probe or bad solder joint on the board, or bad crimp. Nothing i can do about it.
Software doesnt have any way to ignore a probe, unless i disable low temp protection.

Well, they sent me a new bms.
I swapped temp leads zero change, so im swapping the board.

Anybody want a bms that only works if you disable temp protection?

O...k...

Uh...

New board still does the same thing.

Maybe it is actually -40C in my house, and im not noticing it?

There is no cell4...
You are looking incorrectly.

It shows
ENV T
MOS T
Cell T1
Cell T2 the bad one
Cell T3

New board shows same exact readings, new temp bumdle... new everything...
Something is defective on the board.

The temp probes are a molex bundle, so i cant do anything about it...

There is a gap on the connector with one on one end and two on the other, im taking the pair and moving one set to the blank space and trying it...
Might just be a mistake assembling the probe connector...

So the temp sensors came incorrectly pinned from the factory?

I guess the couple extra $ spent on a 200a JK isn’t that bad.

Seeing they sent you a replacement and you have two now, what’s your plans for the second.

I have verified both now work.
I will put together a 32650 cell toolbox build i guess.
I have a big stack of old military banks i need to weed through.
I also have the daly rack mount style bms i wanna use in a project.
