Yixiang Battery Owners: Any problems so far?

I purchased 2 of the DIY battery cases a little over a year ago. Is that what you're looking for?

If so, the cases took about a month to be delivered. I ordered them through alibaba and I had a lot of really good back and forth communication with them. They followed up shortly after the delivery to make sure they arrived. I had the casters added for one of the 2 cases. The boxes showed up in good condition and all parts were included. I put one battery together with EVE LF280k cells I purchased from a different provider. When I put the first one together, it was quick and there was no issue. The 2nd one, something wasn't right and after troubleshooting with the BMS, I found a solder bridge on the circuit board connector for the temp sensor. After I fixed that, everything worked as planned. I followed back up with the person I was working with with a couple of pictures. It was more of an FYI because I already fixed the issue but I know others might not have been able to.

They had the same JKBMS that I had so it was very easy to add them to my existing 4 batteries and get them paralleled together.

Overall, I'm very happy with the construction of the case, assembly was soooo much faster than my custom solution and I've been happy with them sitting in the corner working away.

I have 6 YIXIANG V2 DIY BOX JK BMS 200A 15KWH 16S 280ah, and 2 YIXIANG V1 DIY BOX's.

I really like the improved quality and safety improvements in the version 2 box. I plan to add a third battery bank (4 diy boxes) in the future. My 3 EG4 6000XP’s have no issues charging the batteries with 40 400w bifacial solar panels. I run the batteries as lead-acid mode via the setup for my 6000XP’s.

I purchased my Grade A EVE LF280K cells from DOCAN POWER (Amy) & HAKADI Battery (Jacob). I purchased the Yixiang 280Ah DIY battery kit from Shenzhen Yixiang New Energy Co., Ltd. (Miaoxin Tie).

Due to Trump’s tariff’s, I no longer must wait on the slow boat from China. You can now request the “American Warehouse” for batteries and the dyi Box’s for super-fast deliveries.

One con is neither version is UL-certified so check local codes for permitted systems. I have all my solar equipment located in my barn and my panels are all ground mounts to allow for a hybrid battery backup solar system to power my home's loads off grid.

Another con for me is the Yixiang battery positive and negative posts are reversed for V1 and V2 causing some unique wiring for one of my battery bank. .

Key Improvements from Version 1 to Version 2, according to the company.
  • Includes an integrated aerosol fire extinguisher that activates automatically in case of thermal runaway or overheating.
  • Adds a bidirectional DC circuit breaker (e.g., 250A with 50kA breaking capacity) for safer on/off switching and fault isolation.
  • Upgraded JK V19 BMS series with enhanced 2A active balancing, better inverter communication (e.g., 100% compatibility with mainstream brands like Growatt or Victron), and a new glass-panel touchscreen for clearer real-time monitoring (voltage, temp, SOC).
  • Enhanced side ventilation holes and larger top BMS compartment for better airflow; optional active cooling integration.
  • Improved internal layout for easier cell access (less removal of components); upgraded castors with brakes; available in grey color for aesthetics. Optional roller base for stacking up to 4 units.
  • Performance Impact: Both versions support ~14.3kWh capacity with 280Ah cells and 200A continuous discharge, but V2's upgrades (e.g., better BMS balancing and cooling) can yield 10-15% more usable capacity over time by minimizing degradation. It's compatible with inverters for seamless solar integration.

I have 2 ordered. One is pre shipped. By that, I mean that they've generated a california based fedex tracking number. No movement yet. How long does it take from order date to deliver?
how did you end up paying? my credit card didn't go through. Emailed and they wanted money sent to Hong Kong bank or order through Alibaba. Thanks for any advice

I was going to use PayPal, but there wasn't an option at checkout. I used my capital one card. I get a basic warning text and then it goes through.
A couple things. I've had this card for many years and have made a few Alibaba transactions with it. Maybe it's a capital one thing, maybe I'm vetted for international transactions with this card?
Maybe, call your card first and ask about making the transaction. Maybe they can clear your purchase before you buy.
There may be other cards that are more amenable to this transaction. Ask ChatGPT and see what it recommends.

My problems:

The only problems I've had are BMS related though, not specifically Yixiang, but they did choose the BMS, so...

Best to work this process with rep at the company. For the Yixiang DIY battery box I utilize Miaoxin Tie as my rep. I always ask if the have the box in the American Warehouse and give her my specs, she will provide a link for you to pay. I provided other contacts in my post above.

New guy here with lots of questions. Thank you for any insight you can share based on your post:
  1. When you say Docan Power and YIxiang, do you mean their Alibaba stores or their websites?
  2. Both of these suppliers show "Pre-Sale", I presume that means I pay up front and they ship/available for pickup when the boat arrives from China?
  3. Are there any hidden costs or negative solar impacts of piecemealing it together like this instead of just ordering the full battery at $1869 directly from Yixiang's website? I assume the idea is to get it potentially quicker? Or is there cost savings I am not seeing somewhere?
  4. It looks like you're doing the flat boxes instead of the vertical boxes that Will Prowse recommended. Are they the same in quality based on what you know?
  5. Have you had issues finding the V2 box in stock here in the US?
Thanks in advance!

I ordered 4 boxes and the associated 314ah batteries the end of July. Was a bit worried as we all hear the stories and wasn't going to be a cheap loss if it turned out to be the case.
Was updated that it was shipped on August 7th, just got contacted today to confirm delivery address. Supposedly 1 week out from receiving.
So far the process has been as painless as it could possibly be from my perspective of something being shipped internationally.
Will update once units come in. This was through Lucy at XY, and shipped out of HK.

I got it from their website. Link at the top of this page.
-You can order individual parts, vertical box, horizontal box and batteries.
OR
-You can order complete kit. Vertical or horizontal.
NOTE
-$1869 is for the vertical kit. You get batteries, box, bms, fasteners, busbars and more, all in separate shipments. You assemble it yourself.

Thanks for the reply PowTon, so if I order just the box from them and get the batteries elsewhere as @AdamsSolarProject suggests, would I have all the pieces you mentioned?

I have build 4 DIY kits in july. V.2 boxes. Normal stackable. They have corrected all the small things Andy had pointed out in his test.
Delivered in 3 days from Poland warehouse to Denmark.

I only have a problem woth one JK BMS, that has chosen the wrong protocol as a slave, on UART 2. The one you cant select your self. This it not Yixiangs fault.

If you're looking for the easiest way:
-Choose a vertical or horizontal form factor.
-Choose whether you want the EVE 314 battery cells or the Yixiang 314 battery cells.
Then buy it.
A few things to remember. The Chinese, good people I'm sure. But, God bless em' they don't do English too good. So you see things like, "pre sale" "diy box" "pre assembled." Don't get to caught up on the actual meaning of this stuff.
The box, batteries and other bits are shipped separately. So it is a diy box. You do much of the final assembly yourself, see Wills video. "Pre assembled?" I think they mean to say, partially assembled, as in, the box itself has been assembled to some degree. As in, it's got 4 sides and some crap attached.
"Pre sale?" Who the heck knows what's meant by that.
"US stock, China stock?" As far as I can tell, they have some boxes in the US, no batteries are in the US.
When you order a whole kit, it looks like they ship everything from China. They ship to California and then you'll get FedEx tracking from that location to you.

Hey AdamSolarProject,

I ordered 2 of these Yixiang battery boxes along with the cells. I’ve got both boxes setup and configured individually, but I cannot seem to find any documentation on how to set them up in parallel. I basically want to know how to connect the RJ45 cable and how to set up the dip switches for this but I can’t figure this out. How did you configure yours or where did you find the documentation?

Hey stinkyCheeze,
Here is how I have my 2 Yixiang batteries hooked up in parallel.
Primary battery: All dip switches are down.
Secondary battery: Switch 1 is up, and 2,3,4 are down.
I have the RJ45 cable plugged into the last RS485-2 port. Then the other end plugged into the first RS485-2port.
Then make sure on your settings page, you have the RS485 Protocol set to: 001 - JK BMS RS485 Modbus

Awesome. That worked. Thank you. I ended up mailing them asking for links to the documentation too. It's kind of weird that they don't automatically provide you with the docs when you purchase.

Next step is to wait for my wiring to arrive so I can hook them up to my Y&H 10k (SRNE) inverter.

Here are the three pdf documents they sent me for the Yixiang Battery Box in case anyone needs them:

I ordered my DIY case and 16 batteries from Shenzhen Yixiang New Energy Co on Alibaba. I was pretty nervous about spending so much without ordering anything from them before, but am very very happy with how it turned out. Quality is way better than I expected and I had zero issues. The seller answered all my questions pretty much right away. When I had it all hooked up I sent a screenshot of the display asking how to change it to English and she responded with all the details on how to set it up and what parms to change. I am 100% going to order another from them. I did make a couple changes, I used a small amount of battery grease on the terminals and swapped out the big bolts for smaller ones for the BMS connections.BMSConnections.jpg

I ordered the standing DIY setup on august 2nd. On august 7th I was given a fedex tracking number for 8 parcels which I assume is for the cells. It still currently just shows the labels as created, not actually recieved. Today on Sep 9th the cabinet arrived, I never even had tracking for that 😅 Hopefully the cells get moving for everyone soon. I'm looking forward to assembling this and adding it to my system. 🙂

I think that is pretty standard when ordering from Yixiang Energy. They ship by boat to California. Then FedEx picks it up in California and delivers it to your location. I was given a FedEx tracking number a couple of days after my order, but its status stayed at label created for 4 weeks. It took 4 weeks to get from China to California. I didn't have any tracking abilities during that time. Once it docked in California and was picked up by FedEx, the FedEx tracking number became active and was trackable.

It takes like a month for the shipment to get from China to the US and through customs so that FedEx tracking page will not change for a long time. Is your sales person Maioxim Tie? She was able to give me all the details on how/what/when it would arrive. She could not control how long it sat in customs....
