i just finished buikding this and capacity testing and it passed 287ah. i made it mobile so we could take it camping if needed, usb power socket w timer, and a batt monitor. getting ready to mount in my RV and i think i may build another. im editing build clips for my youtube plus the nightmare experience i had with an alibaba seller but i found these cells local since they had to be pristine for this application!

eve 280ah cells with an overkill solar 120a bms on wills recommendation, i bought all the parts last year when building batt was much more popular it seems but i just got around to building since there are clearly several hours of cutting machining and polishing 1/2 inch bullet proof glass!

The Artistic Talents of a few really do standout.
Due to the shapes (curves) and drilled holes, glass ?
Maybe Acrylic, Perspex, Polycarb which can be heat formed to a point.
1/2" = 12mm which is quite stout.

Some great info from PLASKOLITE here https://plaskolite.com/products-services/product-brands/optix and Do Check the Fabrication Guide here: https://plaskolite.com/products-services/product-brands/optix/optix-fab-guide/ which covers forming & shaping plus the various adhesives etc that can be used.

That's a beautiful build! Artistic too, it looks like something that belongs in a modern art gallery.

Fantastic work!

Finally a material that is both an insulator and non flammable.

Now that a template has been made..... what would a kit cost?

yes it is quite stout... i figured it had to hold alot of weight being mobile so i went with 1/2. 12lbs on top of the components
edit.... by mobile i mean it can be unplugged and removed from RV to take camping possibly!

never thought about it but i do have the first rendering but decided to change a few things up but dimensions are the same and would make perfect templetes for future enclosures.

thanks for the info, i did some reasearch beforehand plus we have a very extensive plastics distributor here in philly that gave me several tips and tricks. my first rendering was supposed to use acrilic adhesive which is insanely strong and would have worked fine but after testing a few pieces the mating surfaces almost always had a few tiny bubbles or the seem was just a bit cloudy and once you use the adhesive theres no turning back.... considering all the time and work that went into each piece that was not a risk i was willing to take. besides i now really am glad i used the screws, it has a bit of an industrial/steampunk look i really like plus the beveled edge machining stop and starting at each fastener really ads some crafsmanship to the edge!

This is awesome! So clean and so much effort put into details. I’m very new to this world, and work like this is encouraging and inspiring! Well done!

thank you sir.. yea im new to this lithium stuff aswell but love building so i came here to learn enough of the technical aspect from the people that know what their doing so i could build one of my own and am very happy with it!

finally got this battery in service, went from 4x 220 ah 6volt lead acid to this.... 235lbs and 220 useable ah's to 64lbs and 280 useable ah"s

and i liked how it looked so i replaced the front access panel with lexan aswell so you can see in from the front even while its closed to see the batt monitor/timer readout etc...
