With new gaskets and wiring, those Grandma's Fridges will outlive all of us here. :ROFLMAO: Seriously though. If they are a pre-1960s model without auto defrost, they have the same energy usage as modern plastic refrigerators. Cheaper than getting new one that breaks in 7 years.
Here's his blog with GREE in keyword search. He's done a number of reviews on them. Sorry for sounding like a sales guy. I'm just doing heavy research to make a good bang-for-buck choice.

On a YouTube comment, the CEO of Deye (who makes the EG4 out of China) stated they will release a simple DIY system like Mr Cool has. Let's see if it's true.

It has a "STIN" sticker on it, but it's CLEARLY a Deye unit. Min. order starts at one.
Is it possible to buy the lines seperat
Thanks for the inspiration. I already have so much DIY projects in the house, these units seem daunting. But like you said..."lots of YouTube videos."
I live in a similar desert as you with unbearable 103 summers. I like taking my RV trailer out, but summers cut that short. I'm wondering how a 24k system with large ground array would work in an aluminum airstream trailer. Anyone who lives in the desert and spent any summer in a tin can RV...
I was wondering if anyone figured out a way to reducing input voltage somehow to add more panels to the 767. Is that even possible? I already have 8 used Trini rooftop panels but because of the limited voltage I can only add no more than 2 panels to the 767.
I know the guy has done tons for the community but am I asking too much?
SUPER NEWBIE DISCLAIMER:
At $99 for a 50Ah battery without a BMS, I jumped at the chance to pick up some cheap batteries for powering my RV 12v system. However, the batteries don't come with diagrams or documentation on...
THESE ARE THE ANSWERS I'M LOOKING FOR!!! Thank you so much.
3200 watts? Is that to compensate for cloudy days?
In addition to my 30 amp shore power line, I'm wondering if I should just install another independent 220v plug that connects to shore power to bypass my original wiring. This way...
Ha. No worries. That's what discussion is all about. We are all learning. However I thought I saw an Alibaba link that allowed the purchase of 1 Solar heat pump. Then again I looked at a bunch of links and probably confused. I can always email Kevin, the owner of Deye directly. He's very responsive.
Hi gang.
Bluetti just announced product updates.
The AC300 seems to be a modular swappable solar generator that connects up to 4 battery packs.
Looks impressive but wondered what you solar experts thought.
Thanks.
Yes, I'd hate to be the first one on the block experimenting on my RV. But I believe there is promise with these solar units and way better than rooftop ACs.
I think I would have to add a dedicated 220v line and convert to 50amps just to run the 24k. (I do not know how to just yet)
Also...
Hey there.
From 2:30-6:30 is peak pounding concentrated uninterrupted Las Vegas sunshine where it's sunny 345 days of the year.
I've read that West facing solar panels might be a better option for peak demand charging.
Conventional wisdom says South however, I wanted to hear opinions.
Thank you.
38 Seer sounds insanely great. However, I'm curious who the original manufacturer is in China. Gree? Sadly many of these excellent units are all stickers slapped onto Gree units. Wondering if it's just better to order from Gree directly from China. They have many forward thinking mini-splits...
Excellent. Is it possible to purchase spare parts for your unit if a motherboard burns out? I think Deye actually sells individual parts, but my memory is a bit hazy after all this heat pump research.
There's an HVAC guy out of Arizona who runs and amazing AC blog. He swears by these high performing Gree units. He is starting to place them higher than the big 3 (Daikin Fujitsu, Mitsubishi) for best bang for buck.
