Think your car is cool?

Sort of along the same lines: I got a friend that's converted a few dozen golf carts to solar. Upgrades some of the electronics, adds an inverter, swaps out the FLA to LFP and claims that most of them are rarely if ever plugged in again. One of them tows an electric wood splitter around his brothers places in the country and splits firewood all day. This splitter is no toy either, it eats up logs that take two men to get up on the splitter. I've played around with that one and must say I was impressed!

Prius Prime is also available with a solar roof .
It's an option that costs $610. It gets about 5 m/kWh or better if you drive conservatively.

From the article:

"Those figures are optimistic given the 2.9 miles per kWh figure that results from dividing the Prius Prime XLE Premium's 13.6-kWh battery capacity by its 39-mile EPA electric range"

Authors are ignorant.. divided 39m by 13.6kWh
The usable capacity of the battery is probably from 3kWh (20%) to 11kWh (80%)

39m / 8kWh = 4.9m/kWh
