got a picture of the cables to share? Identical setup, fewer batteries. 2p2-180 is critical for the second inverter and a restart is necessary if you change that setting.
Any resolution to the WatchPower overview tab being blank? Or have most just switched over to Solar Assistant? My overview tab is still blank after deleting and restarting from scratch.
At first glance it looks like one of the cells in the new battery is taking a vacation. When charged, are all cells reporting correct voltages? And as you put load on the system can you check that one pack and see which cell is complaining? Does SA have the ability to look at individual cell...
Basic water heaters just use the thermostat and element. So zero consumption when it’s not heating. Fancier ones with electronics and “options” gotta be less than 25W, probably less than 5. As long as your electronics are separated from the HVDC from the panels, maybe. Make sure it’s a DC rated...
I wonder if the flickering has to do with the power factor capabilities of the inverters? Since he showed it apparent with multiple leds, which really skew the power factor, if you put a pure inductive load, like a toaster, to “fix” the power factor and flicker goes away? Yes, I know you don’t...
The dip switches only matter if the inverter is in eg4 battery mode. If it’s in USEr, no, dip switches do not matter. Nor does the cable. The inverter just “manages” the batteries by monitoring voltages on the main battery links.
It’s more likely an artifact of the HF inverter. High Frequency switching can and does produce audible harmonics that some can hear. If it’s that much of a bother, maybe switch to the low freq EG-6000. :)
It would be a great thing for Will to acquire a microphone capable of hearing those high...
Engineering is always a process of dealing with constraints. In this case, the case literally has holes all around it that “should” be sealed if installed properly (AC input/output/PV/etc) but might not be. Because those holes are on the bottom of the case, you can “seal” the top and force the...
Upgrade the firmware, check your equipment grounding, and set the dips according to the docs. I’ve not had an error 61 since upgrading the inverter firmware and fixing my equipment grounding issue.
Don’t recall which dip setting is reserved for the inverter but that’s the only one your...
For the hvac, check your inrush current. While it’s “normally” drawing say 10 amps, the inrush can be up to 10 times that. They do make slow start kits and you may benefit from that. Drops the inrush from (in my case) 60 amps down to under 25. Steady state is about 9 amps for my AC.
Good luck...
Salt River Project. And it’s just a credit to your account. My offset is going well and the best part is that everyone is changing their habits. Washing clothes in the middle of the day is free so do it then. Instant pot, rice cooker, mixer all play nicely with the inverters and are “free” to...
Let me answer in my case. If I sign up for grid tied, Local Utility forces me into a solar plan for time of use or demand based charges. They also charge ~$45 monthly as a solar generator service fee. And they buy power at 2 cents per kWhr. Very generous… to them. I can use a hybrid...
The 6500EX is a grid assisted setup. It has an AC input but that AC input could also be a generator or grid. The 6500EX is not set up to sell power back to grid.
Yep. Airflow is down. In through the filters. That’s why they are on the outside in easy to remove and clean filter holders. And the fan speed seems to be based on load not necessarily temp. Cloud goes by, pv drops, fans drop. Sun comes out, PV up, fans up. Maybe I’ll liquid cool the system like...
Just a final update. No errors for a few days. I’m happy. Still on original blue cable but I’ll attribute some of the 61’s to my clearly bad ground. Maybe the code just slows down the clock rate on the 485 bus to deal with extra noise. In either event, I’m back to building out the 240V system.
