I'm trying to use a 48v to 12v dc-dc step down (datasheet)
Purpose: I need 12V yet 48V systems (batteries + solar charge controller) are cheaper to build
I bought the 0RQP-E0T12A dc-dc converter a couple of days ago and
am trying to test it. After connecting to a 48V power supply I heard a...
I have 10 x 250 watt panels and need to power a 1.2kW device. I’m ok with it shutting off when there is not enough sun.
I’m thinking of getting the 2.4kW 24V all-in-one box https://www.mobile-solarpower.com/all-in-one-122448v-packages.html
What kind of battery can I get away with?
This is...
48v batteries are cheaper but I need to break up my solar panels in to two independent arrays* each managed by a separate MPPT that will output 24V.
Can I wire the 24V output of two MPPTs in series to power a 48V battery?
* The reason I need to break up my solar panels in to two independent...
I have a Growatt 3000 which powers the AC breaker box to outlets in my tiny house. I’m planning to wire the AC breaker box ground to the Growatt AC output ground.
The system would be 100% off the grid yet going to connect city power to AC input to charge the batteries when there is not enough...
I have a Growatt SPF 3000TL LVM-24P and Valence RT U1-24 battery. The inverter when left disconnected overnight discharged the bettery and would not turn on with solar or utility power. Now I got the second battery which is fully charged. I want to connect them in parallel. Should I be worried...
I was able to get a MakerHawk battery tester to draw a load from my solar panel.
Advantages:
- shows V, A, W
- records Wh for the duration of the test
Disadvantages:
- will not work with an MPPT, so solar panel will underperform
I noticed that the user guide PDF mentions the "DC Output" port...
I have a Growatt SPF 3000TL LVM-24P and Valence RT U1-24 battery.
Charge Voltage 29.2 V
Float 27.6 V
Recommended 10 A
Charge Time 2.5 hrs
I have the Growatt configured to battery type USR2 (which is what you would set when using a lithium battery without a data connection).
the problem is...
I have a “Giant of Sun” MPPT for 24V, 100A, Max. PV input 50V, 2400W
the manual says it’s only suitable for OPEN, AGM, and GEL batteries. And not “lithium ions”
I have a Lithium Iron Phosphate battery: https://mesa-tec.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Mesa_Valence_U-Charge_U1-24RT.pdf
On the...
I have an all-in-one MPPT (SPF 3000TL LVM-24P Growatt). Will it work with internally heated batteries?
The concern I have is that the batteries will shut off charging at cold temperatures and if MPPT will shut off all current then the heating pads will never turn on.
In Will explains how to install a heater pad for LiFePO4 batteries. I'm running a system:
1. outside climate drops to -40 degrees C (about the same as -40 degrees F)
2. my load will drain the batteries throughout the day and at night everything will freeze
3. in the morning I need the solar...
