Yes, it should pretty quickly drop to 3.3V resting voltage or 26.4V for 8S pack. From what I understood from reading battery research papers it's the voltage + temperature that influences rate of capacity loss and that is directly tied to state of charge. But with LFP chemistry the voltage curve...
Yes. The inverter has to synchronize to grid waveform in order to inject solar into AC loads with grid assist. The hardware to grid export is there but this feature is not enabled probably due to lack of software support or extra hardware required to comply with anti-islanding, I am not sure.
Do you store data bits for full sine wave cycle or just 1/4 of it and flip/invert in hardware? I would like to look at detailed implementation of the EEPROM. Using parallel data output of ADC and driving address select bits of EEPROM is very clever. I would probably just have an 8 bit...
Sure but it should not fry itself from battery disconnect under full load. Inadequate design. Easily rectified by connecting battery cells direct to inverter making disconnect under load impossible (unless the fuse blows). BMS can drive inverter/charger on/off control pin.
From internal views they look contained in rigid frame but have no compression foam in between the cells. As cells age they will overcompress themselves. I would not buy rack battery because of it.
More granularity for panel string MPPT. You can do 8 panels in series with their own boost controller independent of another strings. Also as a beginner it may be easier to build smaller converter first before dealing with higher power. Depends what you want to do. If you are planning to build...
Are you talking about Aliexpress sellers or US based stores like 18650batterystore, SFK or batteryhookup? Are you suggesting their cells are relasered with fake test reports?
Why would I even want to do that? I just want to generate, store an consume my own energy without having to subsidize the grid for those who still want to be grid dependent. Right now new laws are being proposed to force flat fees regardless of usage which makes it even worse for grid...
Grid-tie 550w solar panels on the roof. NEM agreement with power utility. Resistive "tankless" water heaters in line with gas boiler controlled by PLC or some other logic controller. Most simple approach. 30k s.f. roof space can fit about 300 kW of solar panels. Depending on your climate that's...
Wind 10 turns of both + and - battery cables through FT240-31 ferrite toroid placed close to battery terminals. That should prevent RF energy from getting into BMS of your battery.
@RCinFLA Thanks I was hoping you would chime in. Good tip on SCR vs. TRIAC re-triggering with inductive loads. This explains why this 3ph soft starter from Aliexpress uses two SCR's per phase. Some good clues in this picture:
Looks like it has 8bit ATMega micro controller and MOC3052 Triac...
How much power and energy your backup needs to provide? What's the price on cheapest deep cycle (gold cart type) lead-acid batteries you can source locally?
TMOV20RP750E has 1980V max clamping voltage. It will not protect inverter AC input. Better choice would be TMOV20RP300E with 300Vrms and 775V clamping voltage if connected across two hot wires. Even better to use 150Vac TMOV20RP150E connected to each hot wire and neutral. But the problem is MOVs...
