Background
No degrees but heavily experienced with automotive repair, great understanding of 12v dc systems, I have installed many aftermarket lights/stereos, amplifiers, gauges, and trailer plugs. Basic understanding of 120/240 ac systems, I could replace a security light light fixture or standard receptacle. I am familiar with the care lipo and life batteries require from my high end flashlight and rc car hobbies. Solar panels themselves, I know when the receive light they make power, only recently have a learned specifics like 100-200w is common output and that they operate with dc voltages.
Current or Future Solar Power System
I promise the only spamming I will do is with solar panel, charge controller, inverter, and battery questions! I’ve had a 750w modified sine wave inverter for a few years that I’ve hooked up to my vehicles and started occasionally during short power outages and thought that was awesome to be able to fire up the tv and WiFi and watch Netflix in a lit room when the whole area sat in the dark. My state had a 3+ day (5 in my rural area) outage this summer and the 750w inverter wasn’t cutting it. I spent a lot of money on diesel/gas letting my vehicles idle and had to rotate between the refrigerator, my 2 aquariums to keep fish alive, and entertainment/fan, that really got me thinking and researching which lead me to this forum.
