  • Post in thread: How T o setup batt AH in a Schneider 4048 inverter

Hi, Your inverter is 48V, correct? Do you have two banks of 4 - 12V 200Ah in series? If true, each 48V bank is 200Ah, then two 48V banks of 200Ah in parallel is 400Ah.

I believe the material is phenolic sheeting you may be looking for.
  • Post in thread: Daly BMS UART

Nice, I was not aware of this setup. Looks pretty decent. I would go that route before the Daly. I have been a DIY guy my entire life but as we are getting up there the thrill is not the same as it was. Although we did consider other more affordable options and decided if we are spending boo koo...

    Well, you only have 400Ah.
  • Post in thread: Here's my plan to install a 230V Mini-Split

I used the wall mount indoor unit that comes with a standard split unit. I explored the cassette in the roof but the wall unit was the simpler option. Yep, got a total of 24 - 280Ah LiFePO4 (12VDC system). Four banks in side compartment two more banks under the step inside. Have access to a...

Okay, when batteries are connected in series, - to + to - to +, so on, the voltages add. 4 x 12V batteries with a rating of 200Ah connected in series will be 48V. But, the Ah (Amp-hours) will remain 200Ah. You can only increase the Ah by connecting in parallel. So, when the two 48V 200Ah battery...
  • Post in thread: Cable terminals.. wouldn't a smaller hole in the middle of a terminal be able to carry more amperage?

Maybe fender washers and some MG carbon conductive grease?
  • Post in thread: Question about lead acid to lithium with dc to dc charger

Allan, you should be good. The alternator charge circuit feeds the Renogy DC-DC which outputs to the lithium batteries. Not sure if you plan to install the switch/es for ON/OFF and/or 100/50% charge. I have a large bank in the RV and it is definitely a must have for me. When running at night the...
  • Post in thread: Do I use power form the battery? or from solar?

Think of it in terms of net usage. Hypothetical, if the solar panels are delivering 100W and the laptop uses 100W then the net would be zero or no battery charging or battery output but laptop is powered. If solar is putting out 200W, laptop uses 100W, the net is 100W and battery charges if...
  • Post in thread: Here's my plan to install a 230V Mini-Split

Just an FYI. I have installed a Pioneer 12k BTU 22SEER 120VAC Split unit in our 2007 Winnebago View 23J. Hung the outdoor unit on a strut frame at the upper left rear of the RV above the spare tire. The indoor wall unit is just inside on the rear wall above the bed. The 12K is just big enough to...

The MG is not oxide, it is conductive carbon paste, check it out. It improves conductivity. Only ever use S/S hardware.
  • Post in thread: Daly BMS UART

That is correct, the Daly is not for larger systems, 100A sounds about right for the high side. I was suspicious about the main line cables. I looked at them recently when upgrading to 1000Ah of LiFePO4 and installed a Batrium BMS. Using shunt trip breakers for emergency high and low voltage...
  • Post in thread: ShunBin Battery Packs: 12V/24V 100AH and up ! A Complete RIP-OFF ! AVOID

I have been using two12VDC 500Ah Shun Bin batteries to power the house side of my RV for a few years. They have performed as well as any of the CALB or Battle Born I have. The only bad thing I can say is that after load testing the batteries are more like 400Ah, 834Ah for the two in parallel...
  • Post in thread: Here's my plan to install a 230V Mini-Split

Looking at 300lb of battery (13lb ea.). I believe it's a 150A alternator, have switch for the Renogy DC-DC converter to initially charge at 50%. For consumption, not sure exactly, the Thornwave power monitor measures the total of the input and output. 1600Ah will get us through 2-4 average days...
  • Post in thread: Batrium shunt trip setup, help needed

I have a similar setup with the Watchmon4, but with only a single ABB shunt trip breaker to handle the charging circuit. Unfortunately there is only a single channel available for all critical faults whether too high or too low. It hasn't really been an issue, it has only ever tripped on high...
