I tried it over serial on my tough book laptop as it has a serial port. The windows version is absolutely horrible. Don't waste your time.

I have had good luck with Mattracks. Had a set on a kubota RTV, but they are hard on the front end. As far as an electric vehicle, I am not sure it would be a good thing. Tracks take considerably more HP then wheels and you will loose range.

My very limited experience says the same. My 10Kw tradition gen will not charge but my 2Kw inverter gen will. This is on a rich solar 6548. I have read that plugging in a load like a heater settles down the wave form so the charge controller is happy.

I sort of figured that I would end up going that way lol. At least some of the Pi are back in stock so that is a plus. Another 120 bucks gone?.

It is about 30% decrease in range from my experience so 2 miles shouldn't be a problem. That is through mud and muskeg though, I can see virgin snow sucking back the range even more. Once the path is broke I would say you would be at the 20% decrease.

One last question on this unit. Local wireless monitoring. The watchpower app needs internet to work. It is a PITA to turn my hotspot on just to view what is going on. I seen the solar assistant setup, but it is not free and all my Pi are in use currently. Any other options? Bluetooth would be...
  • Post in thread: Everything in one really, really well insulated box.

Hi everyone, I have tried searching but have not found a answer. I have 400W of renogy panels, 40A renogy MPPT controler, LISUATELI 100Ah battery and a Canadian Tire modified sine inverter. Would it be a good idea to put everything in the same box for winter use along with the septic heater that...

The smart guys here will need some more information. You use 27.6kWh per day going off your bill. 911kWh/33 days. Roughly 1kWh every hour so that bank would last you 4.92 hours with nothing charging it. Things like how much of your bill do you want to offset, are you still going to be grid...

Well that is sort of disappointing that the fans run all the time, seems like a waste of energy when it is in standby.

Thank you 12Voltinstalls. In regards to cables, yes I am putting proper cabling in once I figure out where everything is going to be permanently placed and have the wifes seal of approval lol. I do have leftover 2/0 welding cable from rigging up the service truck that I plan to use, just didn't...

Get a sinking stock tank heater and some heat tape for the pex and insulate it as best you can. Nice part about both is there is no external wiring, plug it in and go.

Got a few questions with this thing. I just got it mounted in my new solar building and had it hooked just to mains to see and play with it before dragging it off grid. 1. Does the fan on this thing run all the time? Even with the inverter turned off the fans stayed on. It is barely above...

I plan to use panels that are in the picture. They are R12 on thier own, but I will be doubling them up with a 8" spray foam in between them. This will probably have a foot thick walls when I am done lol. We don't leave the inverter on as it has a high idle draw(next thing to be upgraded). The...

My mobile internet is sketchy where I am and where it is a bit better is out of reach of the 6548 wifi, so not necessarily a pita to turn on the hotspot. More of a pita to use. Very clunky and poorly laid out in my opinion. It looks like something from window 3.0. I was not overly impressed...

Pi is only 5v so direct to 12v will let out magic smoke.
