Hello, I bought a vevor heater, and it's mechanically totaled out of the box. I was able to get it to make heat by manually priming it, and besides leaking smoke from every joint in the exhaust and muffler, it did make heat for a couple hours, but not much. After only maybe 4 hours of making...

I have fuses for each panel, I was referring to a simple bus bar combining all positives and one for all negatives in parallel for each group of panels. I'm going to probably go with y connectors for cost reasons

I can't find bus bars big enough for 4awg wires
  • Post in thread: Best way to wire panels for shade

Access, I would get zero output without constantly cleaning them

Thank you, I will get a second mppt charger and parallel all the panels. What is a decent price charge controller?
  • Post in thread: Best way to wire panels for shade

Also, what are people doing to parallel this many panels?
  • Post in thread: 6000w inverter recommendations

I was going to pick up the affordable inverter will recommends because I was only going to power the 110v side of things, but it's not available right now. Just for 110, my Max load should be 6000w, if everything in the house is on. Are there any recommended inverters for this application? Are...

5kw would even work, 60hz, 240 can be split at the fuse box. 5kw would be for just 110, 230 would have to be more, that's why I was thinking just 110

Thank you. Wiring and fusing upgrades are a must, but I am wondering about something like a buss bar to parallel the panels, put both banks into series through the wall, then both controllers would be identical, in parallel to the batteries?
  • Post in thread: 6000w inverter recommendations

Continuous. It's interesting so many 3000 watt 12v inverters exist given that 6000 is pushing 24v
  • Post in thread: Best way to wire panels for shade

So, I'm thinking to optimize the output of the panels for the chargers I have, maybe doing 5 panels leaned one way, 2 straight up, 5 leaned the other way. Just by lowering one end of the whole thing on one side. How far should I go with it? I don't want to lose too much peak output, either. I'm...
  • Post in thread: Resources to build a battery

I want to hopefully build a small power station from used 18650s from dead tool batteries and a 12v inverter to keep costs down. I need it to power a snowblower starter and the odd corded power tool. The tool batteries appear to just have dead bms, so I'm hoping to have a bunch of good cells...

I have a small 12 volt system with a panel array with 5 in a row, all series right now. I'm looking to add another 5 and I'm also replacing the now dead fla batteries with lithium, so I figure now is a good time to re wire the panels for shade, since I have rolling shade from both sides

I'll try to post pictures when I get home
  • Post in thread: Chinese diesel heater questions

ok, so then that explains why it plugged up. It's a shame the exhaust is such a picky thing given the use I'm needing it for. why would it matter if the exhaust goes up? hot air rises
  • Post in thread: Best way to wire panels for shade

Yes, they are. I'm now thinking about possibly putting the new panels right along side the existing ones and like you said, maybe 4 tilted to each side and two to the middle. Maybe parallel all panels in each group of 5 and stores the two groups through the wall, since I already have 4 gauge...
  • Post in thread: Chinese diesel heater questions

I'm not using EGR, I'm using a longer pipe. The joints were leaking, but most of the smoke came from every part of the muffler. I only ran it on h6, as I was defrosting a snowblower, so more heat was more better. The longer pipe is necessary because of where the exhaust leaves the trailer at...

The problem with the ones you mention is that they have one large hole, but the small holes aren't big enough to accept the smaller wires in my system. I'll just use the y connectors, then
  • Post in thread: Best way to wire panels for shade

They would get more sun in this location, now that I've paid more attention, but they would still be partially shaded at times
  • Post in thread: Best way to wire panels for shade

Right, and that bus bar doesn't work, it was just a visual aid
  • Post in thread: Best way to wire panels for shade

The sun moves left to right, shading whole panels at times, especially in winter. I have a 40a mppt rover charger, which I was of the impression I could parallel some panels and have up to 100v input on, even with a 12v battery. I'm planning on possibly getting a 24v inverter at some point. I...

well, that's not going to happen, no red rtv in the house, no red rtv in the store.
  • Post in thread: Best way to wire panels for shade

That's the sunniest spot in my back yard. The new panels will go below them, and possibly one on stage right off the existing array

  • Post in thread: Best way to wire panels for shade

Where are you finding these larger bus bars? This is what I call a bus bar. Simple, good at transmitting power. Is there any reason not to just use the y connectors? The wires going through my wall are 4awg.
