Which EG4 battery do you have? If server rack, have you taken the top off? The cells are relatively easy to reconfigure to 12v. Admittedly not as easy as other brands, but still not impossible. This could be a solution to simplify your design.
I was in a similar place a few months ago. The EG4...
Do you have a write up? When you say limit value, do you mean a specifc parameter for the heater, or the low temp charge/discharge cut off limit? Which relay did you use? What's the signal voltage? Is it a "normal off" switch?
I bought a heater pad with a built in temp switch, but its operating...
For Sale: one EG4 LiFePower4 48v 100ah server rack battery and one EG4 3000w all in one inverter charger.
Gotta be the simplest solar setup I've ever used.
Purchased in May of 22. Used only a handful of times in my campervan. Decided to switch to 12v for easier alternator charging.
Includes...
Also, I was told by my victron distributor that the extra power cable that comes with the bmv712 can be used as a temperature sensor. This seems wrong to me because I believe the the victron bmv temp sensor includes a thermistor ...for measuring temperature?
@Gary did you ever make that youtube video? I'm working on exactly this scenario. I've got the SP22S001, and I'm trying to wire it to a relay, but I can't get it to go high for anything. I set the low temp cut offs and thr BMS is working correctly for that, but when it switches the battery off...
What is the Voc and Vmp of the panels? I had the EG4 AIO for my camper, but let it go because you need a minimum of 150v from the panels. Also, note that the EG4 AIO has an idle draw around 60w, so 1.44kw/day, unless you put it in "sen" (sensor) mode. This will save you some watts, but it makes...
Any update on this? I am having the same issue with a 6s-21s 100a smart bm (connected to a 6s tesla module). OKS cannot read voltages, but can set parameters. XiaoXiang app can read voltages but the "pro" app (linked from Andy, off grid garage) can't connect to the BT.
So I got a relay module board from micro center to make set up a little eeasier.i read elsewhere that maybe the left pin is the ground? I'm not sure, but the relay has 3 pins, S V G. I assume: Signal, Volts, Ground.
I found that I never get a voltage across the two heater pins on the BMS...
@GyroGypsy Have you come up with a satisfying solution? What sort of temps are you trying to combat?
What are the characteristics of your storage box? ,I too, have limited space and cannot go the heat lamp route. I've got 2 modules side by side in a 28x26x6" steel framed box, wrapped in 12g...
Also, am I understanding correctly that the way the BMS is configured, it will only trigger the heater when the low temp cut off is reached? It looks like at that temp, ithe bms prevents the battery from charging or discharging until it gets above the cut off. Until then it powers the heater...
So I've been debating the BMV712 vs smartshunt for my system and the temperature sensing lead me down a rabbit hole for which I have not found a satisfying answer. Which temp sensor(s?) do I need?
I am planning to have my battery bank stored about 10ft from the rest of my system in an...
I'm having trouble finding info on how to figure out what size battery disconnect I should use. It seems most options are for either 275a-300a or 600a.
I am anticipating my 1 hour continuous draw loads occasionally being over 300a, but typically around ~200a, and my max draw potentially as...
