Background
My on grid is a no brainer and I don’t fool with it. It was about $12K after the 30% credit and it charges my Tesla model 3 and covers all of my house requirements. The off grid system, I built a 12x24 shed and installed the 12 panels there. I build a small weather proof battery house just behind it. I run an LG inverter AC/heater split unit and lighting and workshop tools off of the system. Still working on it.
Current or Future Solar Power System
Grid tied 6.5kW REC 325W panels and Solar Edge. Off grid 3.6kW Beamreach 300W panels, no name Chinese 100A charge controller, no name 5KW inverter/charger 120/240 with 240V charger input from house panel as a backup. Batteries are 8 x 150Ah 12V, you guessed it, no name Chinese AGM batteries set up as 2 x 48V in parallel
