https://www.victronenergy.com/upload/documents/AT-1-split-phase-240V-to-120-240V-with-Quattro-240V.pdf The autotransformer is the key to making it all work. It will 100% work for N American split phase power.

All you need to use that inverter as 120/240V in the US market is a Victron autotransformer. I have installed other Victron 230V units in this manner, and it works amazingly well. A nice bonus of using the autotransformer is that it load balances L1-L2 up to 32A, so you don’t have to be as picky...
  • Post in thread: How can you ship LFP Returns since they're HAZMAT

Legally speaking you can’t initiate the shipment. If the vendor initiates the shipment then it is possible. To be fully compliant they have to be in a UN certified box and meet all criteria for shipping lithium batteries. Terminals have to be covered, must be in a sealed poly bag, and cushioned...

Yes, exactly. Victron Euro inverters are designed to be able to run 50Hz or 60Hz, and voltage adjustable up to 240V. It is completely Victron approved to install with autotransformer and use with N. American split phase. I KNOW it works because I install them this way.
  • Post in thread: marine vs residential AC breaker panel

From my experience the marine panels are designed for stranded wire with ring terminals. They don’t work well with solid wire. Many RV’s come wired with solid wire. I have always used residential panels in the systems with solid wire, and marine for stranded.
  • Post in thread: 220V from Marine Inverter

I have a 12V 100Ah lithium feeding the 12V panel, and have a Victron 48-12 converter keeping it charged. If for some reason the converter fails or the 48V battery goes offline, at least I have backup power for some small lights and waterpump
  • Post in thread: Victron multiplus and smartsolar together

If you have a Venus or CCGX you can set a total charge limit. If solar meets the limit, the MP will not charge. If solar cannot meet the limit it will supplement with shore power charging. I like to set the shore power charge voltage .1 or .2 volts lower than the solar. This will make sure solar...
  • Post in thread: running 2x victron multiplus' in split phase

No additional hardware needed. Watts are watts. 3,000W X2 units = 6,000W They will not auto balance unless you add autotransformer. 120/240 is not that difficult to set up, but requires attention to detail
  • Post in thread: How can you ship LFP Returns since they're HAZMAT

These type of sellers need to be outed and avoided. However, for the DIY guy it is a double edged sword. The reason these sellers can offer such a low price is because they aren’t shipping them properly and are avoiding a ton of shipping fees. They also know that they will never have to...
  • Post in thread: 220V from Marine Inverter

Have you considered going to 48V inverters? I just ask because depending on how big your a/c units are, you could end up with a pretty high amp draw. I have 3 a/c units on my houseboat that run off 2 of the 48/5000 Victrons configured in split phase 120/240. It works amazingly well and keeps the...
  • Post in thread: Victron 150/60 went over 15v code 38

Most likely your batteries BMS disconnected due to one cell being higher than the rest. The high voltage recorded was probably just a spike as that happened. Disconnect all connections to the controller for 3 minutes, (or turn off breakers if you have them). Re-connect and it should be fine...
  • Post in thread: How can you ship LFP Returns since they're HAZMAT

It is possible to return via UPS under some scenarios, but it depends largely on what the defect is and what the watt hour rating of the battery is. If you receive any shipment that doesn’t have a UN sticker for Lithium, and the label doesn’t clearly state hazmat or dangerous goods, the...
  • Post in thread: Victron 150/60 went over 15v code 38

I doubt you hit the 15V total pack BMS limit from charging. You probably had one cell that hit the single cell BMS limit, probably 3.8V or 3.9V depending on the BMS. The BMS then shut off, and caused the MPPT voltage to momentarily spike. Lowering the charge rate and absorption voltage helps...
  • Post in thread: SCC and inverter/charger charging at different voltages....any issues?

I do exactly as you describe, and have done so for years. It prioritizes solar charging over mains, as the inverter will basically stop charging when SCC is charging.
  • Post in thread: 220V from Marine Inverter

Justin is correct. I used the 48/12-20 Isolated. Zero issues with it. I used the potentiometer to set voltage at 13.4V when connected. 48V really is the way to go for high draw appliances. Much easier to find a BMS to handle 80A draw @48V than 160A draw @24V.
  • Post in thread: How much solar power an batteries would i need to run 15K ac in a travel trailer?

Totally depends on a lot of factors: What is the expected use climate? How much will it be used? All day, all night? The MINIMUM I would use is: 2400W solar 5Kwh lithium battery If you want to be able to use it a lot, I would go with: 3200W solar 15Kwh lithium battery Assuming mostly sunny...
  • Post in thread: 72 Volt Solar Generator with 26s Lifepo4 battery?

IMHO you are creating a catastrophe of a system. 24V 8S or 48V 16S systems will be a million times easier to find components and configure. Although you might be able to source enough components to cobble a working system together, I would hesitate to do so. Components that are legitimately...
  • Post in thread: Victron All-in-one: "Inverter RS 48/6000 230V Smart Solar"

I have only installed this type of Victron system off grid. They are super simple to wire and set up. You do have to use a laptop to set it up, as you have to change the inverter frequency to 60Hz for N. American power. There is also a dipswitch on the inverter you have to flip if you are using...
