First post.
Hey guys I am building a overland 4x4 box truck. This is my second 4x4 rig I've built.
The first one was a 2000 Ford E-350. It had 200w of solar and 200ah Renogy AGM batteries:
This is the new rig the day I bought it:
I added 800w of solar to the roof rack:
So far, that's...
Thanks for the info!
My old one is a 2000 with a 7.3L diesel. The new one is a 2014 with a 5.4 gas.
I'm ordering batteries next month. Still tidying up on a few things. Thanks for the feedback!
I just ordered 4 of these. A bit pricey, but ships from USA.

Really? I didn't know that. I may do that. I will look into what I need for the 12v side.
I won't be running anything too heavy for 12v side. Just a vent fan, lights, water pump, diesel heater, etc. All use no power.
The 120v side is why I need the batteries. I'm going to have a mini split...
I am setting up a system for a van that will run a mini split.
What would be the best way to wire up 4, 280ah LiFePO4 batteries?
Run the all to a Victron Power In panel? Or connect them to each other in parallel, then run one set of leads to the Power In panel?
Thanks!
I just ordered 1 of 4 - 280ah battery banks for the box truck. I'm planning on using a JDB or DALY 150A BMS for them. Also, a RV tank heater pad also for each unit.
I currently have the 4 solar panels set to one side, not staggered like in this pic:
I will have a DC to DC charger (Victron...
I went back with OSB.
Pulling up all the boards. Lots of rust!
Coated everything with POR-15:
Then I covered the underside of the OSB with FRP. And sealed the edges with epoxy resin.
Everything down and sealed:
Installed the RV steps. This will be SUPER handy once the box truck is 4WD.
They're good engines. I take oil samples every oil change and so far, I've only have done one oil change. The results were ok I guess. I will really see on the next oil change. It takes a few to get a good average on what your engine is doing.
2 of the 4 batteries I am building are finished.
I put them in ABS battery boxes, and was testing everything out.
Multiplus:
RPi w/ 7" screen. I tried making my own cables to connect between it and the SmartShunt. It was a no go. Had to use Victron Cables. I also connected the Multiplus...
