Yep, that's what it is. Thanks! Up to about 50% now. It's just very disconcerting when it does those sounds and errors for the first time, sounds like it is going to catch on fire or something. Nice to know now but perhaps there could be a better error code for just "chill out and wait a second...
I think so too. They are optimally positioned for permanent install, with no tilting. 35 degrees in North Carolina. I'd expect they would pick up production in Spring, yet to your point, more battery capacity is needed.
I've gotten to the point where I'm ready to connect my tiny house to the grid.
For AirBNB purposes, I think it's unique to say it's off-grid yet I think it's way more cool to ensure our guests don't run out of power.
Plus we eventually set up net metering as we are generating way more power...
Understood about breakers, thanks. I don't how to de-energize the system though without a main disconnect.
250' is the distance. Below are the specs of the charging amps/volts:
So, I think this means I need 230 volts AC @ 80 amps minimum to charge the batteries.
And no I don't what the...
I did a quick Google and looks like SJ/SOOW isn't rated for direct burial so looks like that option is out. Thanks!
What wire would you recommend then for my needs?
I've increased the parameters a bit to 55.2 and now Growatt is saying I'm getting 9+ kWh of energy a day. I think it just doesn't count the additional energy created if it can't store it/send to load.
As far as recommended parameters, I reached out directly to Growatt which said the below...
Are you happy with your current 12v ShurFlow Pump? Just interested. I'm getting ready to install a 12V pump I got from Northern Tool. It's 6 GPM and seems to be pretty beefy (as I my last one wasn't working well). Thanks.
Here's my system:
2 x 48V 100AH Water-Proof Bluetooth Battery by EG4 = 200AH
5000W LVM- ES Off-Grid 240V Growatt Inverter with Solar Charge Controller + Growatt Split Phase Transformer
16 x 335W panels, wired in 2 strings, joined in a combiner box
I'm constantly running out of power in my tiny...
Thanks. Did you have any issue connecting 4 gauge into your breaker? I've never worked with wiring that thick and don't know if it will fit and if so how hard it is to get in there.
Batteries went dead overnight (we had a big storm in NC yesterday and basically didn't generate any new power yesterday).
Inverter is showing fault codes 4 and 19 this am after it finally rebooted, which took about 5 minutes of it turning on and off (kind of like little engine that could)...
Good point, certainly bigger panels provide much more efficiency yet are much more cumbersome with transportation and installation. This is what grandkids are for though, right! If their hair stands up when it's all connected then you probably need some beefier fuses ?
I'm trying to run the math on the cost/benefit between storage power vs power generation, for designing a new system for my off-grid tiny home.
I'm looking at SanTan Solar used panels which are crazy cheap like $0.25 per watt. Compare this to the 5KWH battery I'm looking at for $1500.
With...
