I know where I can buy Valence U27-12XP 138ah batteries used for $400 locally, and was wondering if that’s a good price.
  • Post in thread: Hello from Texas

I have a 36’ Winnebago class A, and am planning on retiring soon. My wife and I plan on becoming full time RVers, and don’t want to be tied to the grid. I’ve always been interested in solar, and thought I would come to the best place to learn more. So I decided this is where I’d find the best...

Will opened one in one of his videos and said that they had a great BMS inside, gave it a great review. I have watched all the YouTube videos I could find. I’m not very knowledgeable when it comes to lithium batteries but I got the impression that the communication ports are for the batteries to...
  • Post in thread: Hello Everyone, new comer wandering about Valence U27-12XP 138ah batteries

According to seller these batteries have only been cycled between 5 and 50 times. And that they have been fully charged and tested. He said he had 120 for sale. I’ve checked on eBay and the price is better then I found there, plus these are local so no shipping costs, access to seller if there...

  • Post in thread: Checking Battery Capacity of Used Valence U27-XP

Your probably right, I have a Xantrex Pro Watts 2000 Inverter. I’m going to install a shut and then I’ll be able to be more accurate. But mainly wanted to see if I was correct on my calculations. Thank you very much for your help.
  • Post in thread: Am I overcharging my batteries

I have 2 VaIence Lithium batteries and I just bought a Progressive Dynamics PD9160ALV 12V Lithium Ion battery converter/charger - 60 Amp. Charged the batteries for 2 days and the voltage is showing 14.6. I’m afraid I’m over charging the batteries, am I wrong.
  • Post in thread: Am I overcharging my batteries

I bought the Progressive Dynamics charger because it is suppose to be one of the best for lithium batteries. The Valence batteries are the U27-XP they do not have a bms. correct, thank you. I know they say that the progressive charger charges to 14.6 but I don’t have a monitor yet to see if it...

  • Post in thread: Checking Battery Capacity of Used Valence U27-XP

I bought 2 used Valence U27-XP batteries rated at 138Ah 1766 Wh. Being used I wanted to check their capacity. Using Will’s chart for Battle Born batteries I don’t want to take my charge below 20%. So voltage charged 14.4 to 12.9 is 80%. Which 80% of 1766 Wh is 1412 Wh X 2 = 2824 Wh. Calculating...

I understand they have a internal cell balancer, but not a undercharge or overcharge or temp protection.
  • Post in thread: Hello Everyone, new comer wandering about Valence U27-12XP 138ah batteries

I’m trying to built a solar system for my motorhome. Been watching Will’s videos on lithium batteries. I know where I can buy Valence U27-12XP 138ah batteries used for $400 locally, and was wondering if that’s a good price. Was thinking about going with 4 100 watt panels and I have a 2000 watt...
  • Post in thread: Total beginner - valance battery no posts to attach wires too - not sure what do

Using standard threads on metric is probably causing the bolt to bind up is the reason you thought that the bolt was too long. Use something smaller then the bolt hole and stick down in the hole. Then compare it to the bolt so you make sure you don’t bottom out. Try screwing the bolt (M8 1.25)in...

Even if it’s made in the USA, it’s a pretty good bet that it’s Metric.
