Thank you, always nice to be in compliance.
So junction boxes like these receive MC4 connections and then output BX cable through the roof.
Guess I’ll need another similar junction box on the other side of the house to go back to PV as that is what the solar DC disconnnect, Circuit breaker, and...
Honestly, it might be more fun and better (higher quality and more ability to add on to it) to do the entire project DIY as you mentioned.
$50 Blemished 250watt panel from one of Will’s recommended sources
$80 20 amp Renogy or Epever MPPT
Lithium battery of your choice (with good BMS)
$35 12...
One on the pergola and one on the roof in series for the Ecoflow delta pro (was going to put two on the pergola, but I’m not going to push the weight bearing capacity of the pergola)
Then six in a series on a different part of the roof for the EG4 hybrid minisplit.
I’ll be using a mini rail...
Thanks. It works great cooling down the garage nicely; the dripping is annoying. Detaching the high and low lines once connected opens a can of worms I would prefer to avoid.
Shouldn’t be an issue, but will require another physically strong person on a ladder outside to help guide the lines...
Thank you, so something exposed on the line set, or something exposed inside the unit?
I did an A++ job of wrapping that insulation around the line set with a double wrap of electrical tape.
Or is it a line behind that thick styrofoam layer?
Thank you very much for the feedback.
This is a picture of the MC4 receptables on the 12K hybrid EG4 outside unit.
The instruction manual and the construction of the unit guide the consumer into utilizing PV cable as the final step if running directly off DC from the solar panel array.
If using PV cable anywhere except the roof...
I suppose you have the aesthetic choice of 12volt LED hanging string lights (popular for outdoor patios) and 12volt LED strip lights (popular on boats and vehicles)
I like your idea of a motion sensing switch or just a standard regular switch by the door.
If a critter were to get in the shed...
Well, it looks like Ecoflow is now offering a solution for AC supply to house in conjunction with their Ecoflow units with an Ecoflow Microinverter that connects to the different Delta models. Then you can plug into any AC outlet (I will guess ideally a 20amp circuit dedicated to the outlet you...
I’m interpreting guidelines that DC PV cable from panel array should be run in metal conduit or flexible metal conduit when inside the home/attic/basement.
The following is my plan. Please point out any errors in my interpretation of guidelines and offer any suggestions.
Thank you.
Six 400W...
^^^Looks to be UK only for now?
This seems like an elegant solution (no extension cords)
It gets to 110 degrees in the shade outside in Texas and 120 degrees in Texas summer garages…electronics don’t like that.
I’m staring to understand the issues with directly DC powered appliances that have a self contained MPPT and inverter (very difficult to stay within NEC guidelines; then there’s all the underutilized power)
For future such appliances, I wonder if there is an easy way to incorporate optional add...
The drain lines came with thick insulation around them. All I did was double wrap electrical tape all over that thick insulation so the line set would pass through the home better.
That being said, I will unwrap them and reward with insulation tape
OK, so I've located a discreet location where I can run 10 AWG PV wires off the roof, and then discreetly run them in either flexible metal conduit or PVC conduit all the way around the house under the eaves behind gutters.
I am strongly considering this as it simplifies things (especially the...
Yes, that last idea above (grid tie the EcoFlo) is not great and not my vision for the Eco Flow Delta Pro…it’s not what I had in mind and am planning a small four parallel panel low wattage micro inverter grid tie with the very little HOA approved (can’t see it from street) roof space I have...
Very awesome flanged outlet there.
I should clarify that the EF Delta Pro is inside the master bedroom…I put it behind a recliner…. But of course she can see the thick yellow 10AWG extension cord running off it that goes to a AC surge protector power strip under our bed.
Thanks all for the advice.
What would be the preferred method with my situation (no inverter....5X400 watt in series roof panel array to EG4 outside compressor that has MC4 receiving connections if I want to avoid going through the roof with a junction box and then back out again?
Option one...
