These portable power stations technically don’t need GFCI due to the fact they are isolated power generation.
(No hot to ground possibility.)
So unless you have your corded outside receptacle’s ground bonded to earth, there shouldn’t be any issue.
You’re technically running a basic extension...
Was reading this & it sounds very much like my issue as well.
My inverter would read the split 60v on each side.
But now reads the proper 120v hot & 0v on neutral after earthing the chassis ground to a proper installed ground rod.
After opening the inverter case & verifying the cassis...
Those readings were when it was alone & NOT attached to anything.
-
AFTER connecting a buried ground rod to the chassis/ground,
THEN it read a proper 120V hot & 0V neutral.
.
That’s the second opinion I needed to know.
-
I figured attaching the Neutral to the Ground would effectively electrify the case itself.
& in the end would make it a possible endangerment.
-
Floating Grounds are so troublesome sometimes.
Then I’ll leave my system as-is then.
It’s why I...
