Thanks Will.
It recommends a 250A breaker which I already have one lying around, so don't need to get anything else. I'll have to research a bit more into the wiring side of things though. AltE recommends 4/0 AWG wiring which is 120mm2 (absolutely ginormous!)
For continuous 1500W load (125A)...
The wire came with the inverter, it's 50cm long but it's essentially right next to the battery bank.
I'm unsure of the actual size as the cable doesn't have any markings showing the AWG rating or MM2 size, but it does say 450/700V so potentially 35mm2 / 2 AWG?
Hi,
What amperage fuse/breaker should I use for a 1500W continuous / 3000W peak inverter?
Do I size it based on my actual loads, or based on what the inverter is capable of (i.e. 3000W, 250A in 12v)?
Note that I'm running my inverter through a 220A victron battery protect if that makes any...
Hi
What do people recommend to fasten solar panels (I have this one) with onto an existing van roof rack (like this)?
Just angle / L brackets to bolt on to the side of the panel and then on top of the roof rack? Or perhaps something else tried and tested?
4mm hex bolts with washer
All flat
I'll look into these
I'll have a dig around to see what I have if the cells continue to be out of balance
Gotcha, will wait and see what they're like after the bottom balance finally finishes and do a few cycles.
I bought the 100A Daly BMS with separate port, and the description on the actual BMS says 20A charge current, 100A discharge current.
I spoke to Daly Official Store on aliexpress, and apparently they checked with the engineer and it can charge up to 100A.
Not sure if there is a language barrier...
Newbie here, following everything from Will's Youtube videos
So my setup:
1. 4x 3.2V 200Ah LiFePo4 cells (from BLS, Aliexpress)
2. ISDT 8S Battery Go balancer
3. 100A Daly BMS with Separate Port
4. Victron battery protect
4. 1500W inverter
My issue:
These 4 cells were balanced to within 5mV at...
