Yes, these are 210aH CAT batteries, I do get them for free, where I work we have 4 or 5 big CAT generators with 2 batteries each, and every 3 years part of the maintenance is replacing the batteries, for years they have just sent them out to be recycled, but no more, LOL
Well, I broke down and bought the all in one PIP LV2424 MSD for the man cave, I really wanted to stay all DC, but... LOL, I can't wait to get it hooked up, it's supposed to be here Friday 31st.
I live in Laughlin Nevada, right now I have some land scape lights that I have converted to run off my solar power. I I will be adding more land scape lights and DC power to the Man Cave, next year I am going to get a 48 volt split system air conditioner, I will have lights out there, maybe even...
Yes, you are correct about the panels, so, it sounds like I am close to where I should be. I agree with you about the a/c power, I will set it up with a smart plug and timer then keep an eye on how much power I use and how cool that the temperature is inside. I can't believe how much I am out...
I am looking at this 48 volt 12,000 BTU DC air conditioner by Hot Spot Energy. I haven't reached out to them to see what the cost is yet, I am still getting my solar array set up. https://www.hotspotenergy.com/DC-air-conditioner/ I like the idea of not having to use a converter and have so much...
Yes, I thought that one time I had seen the price, but when I was just looking I didn't open the link that had the parts break down. I think 2K for an all DC air conditioner is decent. I live near Las Vegas, where I am setting my solar array I get a good 6+ hours of sun a day.
So I got the MPPT all in one LV2424 MSD, it’s a 24 volt 2500 pure sign wave 80 amp controller/charger, super powerful for what I need. I tried to hook my wife’s computer to it last night the MPPT is not Mac friendly, but I got nowhere with the computer. I used the MPPT screen and set my...
Yes, you are probably right on, I used my clamp on meter and saw about 10 amp load.
The part that I am concerned with is that my old charge controller had a set of LOAD lugs and I had all of my 12/24 volt loads coming out of there, and the controller showed how many Wh were used.
The new...
So I moved to Laughlin Nevada from Oregon and with all the sun I am thinking I need to harness some of this "free" power, LOL. Solar is expensive compared to grid power, but I am addicted, I can't stop tinkering with this "free" power. Currently I have a 250 watt 24 volt solar panel connected to...
I have almost 400 square foot of floor space, and the short wall is almost 11’ and the tall wall is almost 13’ tall, I have 2X6 walls insulated with R-19 and 2X8 roof with R-19 also. I used the solar shield roof sheathing and corrugated metal with a reflective shield. I just want the AC as a...
I have four 250 watt 24 volt 8.27 amp panels, I am doing this for my man shed, so mostly I want cooling for the day when the sun is beating on it, and the temperature is 115+ for days on end.
Here is a picture of my solar panels, and a compass, I know they are below the angle the experts say to have them, but I capture more morning sun this way.
