I came in here to get advice on which ring connector to use for my Overkill BMS, so you can imagine my dismay to see that the thread had degraded into a shouting match about buying American and how non-American crap sucks. You all make some valid points that I can agree with, but if we really...
No, it's not for a van. It's for use with batteries and solar for power outages (in an area w/wildfire related outages). I see from your signature that you have an LV2424. Aside from issues working w/the van's 12V, has it been working well?
The Federal gas tax hasn't been raised since 1993, so because of inflation, it's not enough to cover road maintenance. In most states, it covers less than 50% of costs, in many states it's less than 1/3, and in Alaska it covers only 6.9%: https://taxfoundation.org/states-road-funding-2019/ So...
That's MPP Solar's web site, but if you want to purchase directly from them, then you have to go to their Alibaba store. It's much cheaper than US sources, because it ships by air directly from Taiwan. Also, service requires parts to be shipped from Taiwan and possibly return of the unit to...
The flowchart on the last page of this UPS document seems to suggest that lithium metal battery packages with gross weight of <30kg can be shipped with a warning label and "does not need to be shipped as fully regulated Dangerous Goods."
For 26 gauge in 16/18-22 connectors, I probably will go the route of soldering them to be safe. For soldering, is the correct practice to use an insulated crimp terminal (not heat shrink) that exposes the wire on the ring side? I've looked but haven't found anything that's specifically made for...
Did any of you end up getting the 2724LV-MR? I'm thinking about getting it and am interested in how well it's been working for you. I'm particularly interested in the no load power, noise level, and generally how reliable it's been.
Do they go on the moment there's any load or only after a sustained load? Are they either on/off or variable speed based on temp, load, etc.? I'm planning on using the 2724LV-MR w/3.6kW of batteries and 400W of solar as an emergency back-up for the fridge and such (in an area affected by...
That's not as bad as SDG&E.
Tiered rates: $0.325 up to 130% baseline, then $0.409 up to 400%, then $0.511
TOU summer rates for people w/solar: $0.61 peak 4-9PM, $0.341 off-peak, $0.28 super off-peak
A lot of homes have solar, because the bill would be ridiculous without it.
As far as I know, the 2724LV-MR is the only MPP Solar product that comes with a battery cable with Anderson connectors and integrated MC4s. It's a US 120V model. Watts247 has a video of it.
Yeah, looks like OP plugged the battery into the all-in-one with reversed polarity and probably shorted...
