my inverter only has a USB port which was occupied by the wi-fi dongle. Theres no where else to plug it in. I used a USB cable.

No just used a standard USB. Contacted solar assistant and they said the USB doesn't work need to use RS485 port. might be a bit beyond me to crimp new cables

Thanks for the reply. What do you mean by "other side of those cables". The cables are ring-lugs, does that mean I can't unplug put the cable on then plug them back in?

I have a Growatt SPH 3000TL BL-UP inverter. I plugged the Solar Assistant into the USB port. logged onto the solarassistant website okay and selected my Growatt Model (SPH) Battery "Use inverter values" it then says "No Matching Devices" What am I doing wrong any advice will be appreciated...
