I've been looking at the data sheets. They don't seem to bad they will likely be doing 25% dod. While far from ideal I fully admit. I have the option to get more and could easy scale to 2 or 3000ah capacity. If it dies a short painfully death I've lost nothing maybee $500 in misc items. My...

Batterys are 1 year old I'm getting the apprentice to test the internal impedance of each battery and putting it on each cell. I'm likely going then to wire them into 12v banks and using a decent charger on each bank. Now I gotta find a AIO that does 240v and can put out some decent current...

There used. But only lightly. They can from a power station. They are used in an emergency so they still have control if they loose power for ages. Was a temp battery bank while they put a new control building in. I know my current set up isnt batt ready. But not sure if it's worth...
  • Post in thread: Parrelling up cheaper 12V lifepo4's

Yep as the current draw will be unregular im presuming they will level out over the week till they are used again. Also in a car you generally dont want to parallel batts as they will act as a load on each other however these should be matched and have a lower internal impedance ( I can measure...

I will be running 3-4 x 5kw inverters. 20kw of panels will not provide enough during adverage days. I'd much rather 30kw+ 5kw is 20A (240v) could prolly get with 7.5kw/30A will be all gas cooking and led lights through out. Just the AC unit is the only real power draw.

Well I know everyone here loves lithiums but I got 72 x 6v batterys which are either 120ah or 200ah effectively giving me 1000ah+ at 48v I have 2 inverters already and 9.6kw of panels neither are battery compatible. So I'm wondering what's the best way to hook this up. Do I simply replace the...
  • Post in thread: Australia - Cheap new panels - find your distributor

You may be able to get rebates for them also. Also I've been offered pannels at $100ish installed. I found an installer that contracts to one of those dirt cheap mobs. So it's obvious he will sell his soul cheap. Talked to him and his actully happy to do something different and get away from...

It's a swer based system (single wire earth return) so not that flash. I by all means could but should be similar cost plus voltage drop would kill me I don't think 25mm conducters would even do it. If 1 fails I still have redunacy so I don't care so much. Im a lecky by trade (I work for...
  • Post in thread: Parrelling up cheaper 12V lifepo4's

Well i need high current to run some winching batterys (400A+) most of the cheaper 12V batterys have smaller BMS's so im considering running 3-4 x 200ah batterys with 150A BMS's. These will be charged via my cars standard alternator (not smart type) a smaller solar pannel will also be used. The...

Yes you do. Tell them cash and if it helps you don't care if the apprentice does it. That was $100 installed he said come to him closer to date he will find a good deal eg if he has a order for a few pallets come in he will add onto that for me. 60-80 panels but he said does not matter long as...

Let say I choose a 5kw 48v all in one unit. Now I prefer to run a heap of pannels to make sure even on adverage days I'm making power. If I want to run 10kw panels am I right to do that with a single 5kw inverter? I understand it will produce a max of 5kw and that's fine but will it produce...

Ok there are yuasa uxh125-6fr giving me 1125ah at 48v 2 pallets full. Each pellet 975kg or 1950kg total or 4300lb of pellets. Then prolly 400lb in cabling As to wattage I'd say should be 10kw but that's going to be peak. I've ordered a 120a clamp for my Shelly system and can actually measure...

I do want to over build it diy batts are cheap. Property is 100m (300ft) off the road where power is there is no SWER on the frontage. Basicly power company gave me a rough price of 20kaud (17kusd) for new tx and 2 power poles I still would need at least 1 property pole (5kaud/4kusd) plus run...
  • Post in thread: Anyone replaced the fans on an AIO?

Should be easy enough fans will be one of several "universal" sizes look at nuctula fans, there generally considered the best in the 12v world. Look at the sticker on the hub it shouod have a part number/brand on it Cfm is what u really are paying attention to. You may also be able to home...
